Dazed-I agree with you. It was so wrong-Philando followed the law and he was killed by a cop. He did nothing wrong and this is a miscarriage of justice. This cop should have been found guilty! I've seen the video too and it breaks my heart.
OR as someone else said on twitter: Philando Castile did everything right-and was killed anyway. And his killer is getting away with it. A travesty.

I completely understand outrage in these situations. I'm just as skeptical of the police as the next guy. I think how trigger happy some cops are is absolutely revolting. But I also think it's important to look at each situation individually, and from both perspectives. The shooting itself wasn't filmed (to my knowledge, correct me if I'm wrong- I at least can't find it) so we don't know what exactly transpired (basically a he said, she said). If what the cop said is accurate, then he shouldn't be charged. If it isn't, he should; but the law is clear, innocent until proven guilty (again if the full video is available please share it). I'm not saying Castile is guilty of any wrongdoing- and if he is it's far from capital punishment worthy. I just think this (like many police shootings) is an extremely tragic incident. If the cop is guilty, I hope he rots in hell.
Also, rioting in response to this is just as disgusting. Hurting more innocent people is never a good solution.

Wouldn't have been surprising in the 90s, but...
Ehhh, I guess it's still not surprising in 2017.

And now dashcam video has come out of the killing *murder
It's clear from the footage that Yanez shot a peaceful and compliant individual in cold blood in front of his child and girlfriend. It's clear from the trial that cops are above the law.

And now dashcam video has come out of the killing. Yikes. That was pretty disturbing. I mean, if someone tells you that they have a gun, would they really be the first to shoot? Just saying....

And where the fuck is the NRA on this? They should be having a field day over this: a guy shot by police for legally and responsibly carrying a gun. After all, they were quick to jump at the opportunity to talk about children in an elementary school getting gunned down. But of course, total silence this time. Dante's centre of hell would be too good for such trash.

I think this post could have gone under the “miscellaneous” board instead. It’s not really politics related.
Now as for this subject, after viewing the recent video and generally taking other past recorded documents and evident into account, that officer is 100% guilty. There should be no other reason why he couldn’t be around this point. In the video, he acted too paranoid on his part over a misinterpretation.
