Do you find her talented or "twee" and "mumsy" like Emma Thompson?

One of the best of her times. Not only because of her looks but she truly had talent.

Think she was one of the best actresses of her time. Always seemed very natural. Though she also probably chose her roles wisely and didn't go out to much of her comfort zone.

"Love" is not strong enough a word to describe my thoughts of her. Far and away my favorite actress, because if she usually doesn't step far outside of her comfort zone, her performances are some of the most natural, charismatic, aching, poised, and utterly captivating I've ever seen. Her turns in Breakfast at Tiffany's and The Nun's Story (especially the former) are among my all time favorite film performances. I adore her in Sabrina, Roman Holiday, Wait Until Dark, Funny Face, and Charade. I even liked My Fair Lady and The Children's Hour.
And that's just talent-wise. As far as her looks go, she is in my eyes the single most naturally beautiful woman to ever live, and I would do unspeakable things to get with a woman like her. Her fashion and the beautiful Givenchy wardrobe are simply inimitable and glorious. That all black suit in Funny Face is one of my greatest fashion obsessions. (I also go back and forth on what film she looked her best in: Breakfast at Tiffany's or Charade.)

A genuine icon of the silver screen, combining a gamine, stunning pixie-ish beauty with authentic, far reaching acting ability; she could move from heavy drama to romantic comedy seamlessly - I would be hard pressed to say we'll ever see another actress quite like Audrey Hepburn ever again, she was one of a kind; and in her later years a true humanitarian to boot - her semi-retirement post-1967 does leave one longing for more work we could have gotten from her in her mature years, but she chose to focus on her family

Definitely a good actress who isn't just famous for being beautiful. Very good at comedy and did well in dramatic roles like The Nun's Story, The Children's Hour, Wait Until Dark, and her more dramatic moments in Roman Holiday. As others have said, like so many of those old movie stars, she had the gift of knowing exactly how to behave in relation to the camera, leading to her being very natural on screen.

I think she was one of the most beautiful women to ever hit this planet. As far as her acting abilities are concerned, judging from what I've seen, yes, I think she was genuinely talented. What she did in Breakfast at Tiffany's was pure magic, and I'm convinced no other actress would have done it better than her. I'm not much of a fan of Roman Holiday as a film, but she's very good in it and her last scene shows just how subtle she can be, and how she can express so much without saying nothing. Her performance in My Fair Lady is very underrated (personally, I think it's one of her best, and I don't care if she did the singing or not). She can go from hilarious to heartbreaking in a matter of seconds. Her vulnerable beauty, a combination of charm, innocence, and generosity, makes it impossible not to like her.

Her childhood alone could fill a whole movie. Born into royalty, but soon that didn't matter, growing up in Nazi-occupied Netherlands, abandoned by her father as he joined fascist unions, she had to assume a fake name, was delivering underground newspapers around, finding and feeding downed Allied paratroopers, holding secret dance concerts to raise money for the Dutch resistance, witnessing executions, her family being sent to labor camps..... all during a famine.... And she was training to be a ballerina her whole life but due to her war ailments was told she couldn't. And yet...... She went on, and was one of the most radiant, breathtaking actresses to ever fill the screen.

Lovely figure. She's wonderful in Roman Holiday, totally fun in Charade and actually elevates Breakfast At Tiffany's (to the point that I forgive the ending).
