Yeah, I know this is 3 days in a rown with either snippets or just an announcement about new music coming TOMORROW......but if this was The Replacements in '85, The Clash in '79, Pavement in '93 .....we'd be doing this same shit for them too.......not the same rules when you're the best band going ffs ![](//storage.proboards.com/6692321/images/O4cyHtUVHMQsY84icsLl.gif)
Lmaooo why does Grian look like Billie Joe Armstrong here?

Fontaines D.C. StarbursterI'm shouting out Joaquim for this - but obviously this is a huge deal for anybody who has listened to Rock and Roll since 2019.....very Stone Roses influenced in its trip hop beats and the way the vocals weave in and out....almost formless, somewhat frightening.....in its own way kind of experimental Fascinating left turn tbh

The Libertines I Have A Friend
One of the 3 most striking songs on their loooooooooooong awaited and pretty fine 4th album - along with Shiver and Night of thee Hunter both posted earlier....
This song has The Libertines greatest trick - and they have a lot of those - of sounding tight and coherent and falling apart and sloppy - simultaneously

Local Drags Yours If You WantSuperb, expansive sounding new single by Lanny Durbin who here evokes the chiming, bells ringing atmospherics of late 60s orchestral Pop and writes a Power Pop song around it........love this specific sound..... This is the 3rd great Pop song that has come out in about a week ![](//storage.proboards.com/6692321/images/cbungJltNj775_PictjM.gif)

The debut LP from the band English Teacher is maybe my favorite album in ... years? I've been obsessed with this band since I discovered them at the end of last year. Their sound reminded me a bit of fellow great emerging British indie act Dry Cleaning (tongue-in-cheek humor, at times spoken-word lyricism, all over propulsive instrumentation) and even of early Arctic Monkeys; though now on a full album it feels like their sound has blossomed into something completely their own. Front to back it just speaks to me - equal ability to be funny and academic, to be a toe-tapping jam or full of cathartic yearning. Check it out for yourself, I give it my highest recommendation, for whoever possibly values that, lol.

I'll shout out the new Ariana. Especially "We Can't Be Friends" and "Eternal Sunshine". R&B pop bliss perfect for a hot summer night. ALSO... St. Vincent still delivering top tier art-rock after all these years, and All Born Screaming has some her crunchiest music yet. I've only heard a couple albums in 2024 ( ![:uhoh:](//storage.proboards.com/6692321/images/c8bbBnLz3a98Jzy_29H2.gif) ) but even if I hear a lot more, I feel like this is definitely top 10 material. Especially enjoy "Broken Man" and "Sweetest Fruit" but there's soooo much to love about this one

Amyl and The Sniffers U Should Not Be Doing That & Facts
Australia's finest current Rock band - drops 2 new songs.......... and shows off ......Amy Taylor - a genuine Rock Star in an era of embarrassing poseurs - is as close as you can get to a modern Iggy Pop and her guitarist - Declan Martens ..........is her James Williamson

About half way through the year I'd say my favorites are Brat, She Reaches Out to She Reaches Out to She, Hit me hard and soft, Lives Outgrown and All Born Screaming. Pretty good year for music as of yet.

Lots of albums generating more buzz this summer, and I like quite a few of them, but I wanna recommend the debut album from Been Stellar (great band name too) which I just keep coming back to.
