.... Ever? In any category? What do you think?
2007: Javier Bardem, No Country for Old Men 2008: Heath Ledger, The Dark Knight 2009: Christoph Waltz, Inglourious Basterds
I love Christian Bale's and Christopher Plummer's winning performances, too, but I reckon they're not held in the same regard as those three.

Weirdly reminiscent of the Pulp Fiction-The Usual Suspects-Fargo streak in Original Screenplay

For me, Best Supporting Actress 1948-51 is an absolute banger of a streak: Claire Trevor, Mercedes McCambridge, Josephine Hull and Kim Hunter.
I am also partial to Day-Lewis/Irons/Hopkins and Dujardin/Day-Lewis/McConaughey as well in Best Actor, as well as Burstyn/Fletcher/Dunaway/Keaton (if it hadn't been for Fonda gumming up the works, Field/Spacek would've been an excellent streak continued) in Best Actress.

Lead Actor 70-76 is pretty great.

Lead Actor 70-76 is pretty great. Actually, yeah, this is probably the greatest run ever. Ironically enough, the one I probably would disagree with the most is arguably the most iconic: Brando.

Ooooh, Tandy/Bates/Foster/Thompson/Hunter is also probably in contention.

I think 2006-2012 is such a great streak in general and then Leto happens...

Not for me, but I don't love those performances enough to consider that the greatest streak.
They are good, but I really like Best Actress 1961-63:
Sophia Loren - Two Women Anne Bancroft -The Miracle Worker Patricia Neal - Hud
Lead actress and actor categories for the 1970s are pretty incredible. Even if my favorite didn't always win, they were beaten by a great performance.
