Air is a biographical sports drama about the creation of the Air Jordan basketball shoes. The reviews have been glowing: 92% Rotten Tomatoes approval rating, 94/100 Critics Choice rating, and a 7.7/10 IMDB user score. This is arguably the most acclaimed film of 2023 so far.
The film marks as Ben Affleck's fifth outing as a director and producer. Alex Convery wrote the screenplay, his first credited work. The cast features Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Jason Bateman, and Viola Davis. Robert Richardson did the cinematography, and William Goldenberg edited the feature. Both are previous Oscar-winners.
What you guys think of the film's chances of getting nominated for Oscars, Globes, Critics Choice, and Guild awards? Keep in mind, Affleck does have a pretty good track record with his directorial efforts. Gone Baby Gone and The Town earned solo acting Oscar nominations for Amy Ryan and Jeremy Renner. Argo won three Oscars for Picture, Adapted Screenplay, and Film Editing (Goldenberg), and nominated for seven total. His only dud was the widely panned Live By Night.
Nope, maybe screenplay if anything......it was fairly plebby ........... a verrrrrrrrrrrrrry generous 7 .......it's an old man's movie - and I'm an old man and even I didn't even give af.........misguided film, mildly amusing......and also there's this, um:
You see, Air, an Amazon Studios film, cost $130 million dollars. At the time of writing this piece (April 25th), it made $68,360,000 worldwide (according to Box Office Mojo).
