Take your pick, and don't forget... we will always have Paris "But Nikon you forgot too many great names! did you take this chance to find out about more composers?" Yes, yes I did...

Really close between Debussy and Ravel, who are on a whole different level than the others (though they’re often lumped together despite being quite different in style). I love Debussy's greatest works more than Ravel's greatest works, but I’d say Ravel was a superior craftsman overall and a master at orchestration in a way few other composers were. On the other hand, Debussy was more of an innovator and was clearly one of the creators of modern music - Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun pretty much changed music forever and ushered in the 20th century. Tough call, but I think I’d go with Debussy.

Tough call, but I think I’d go with Debussy. He's like the Orson Welles of modern classical music, influence and look-wise... Ravel could be it's Spielberg. I would say that I'm loving the piece I shared from Faure' more than anything from them though, atm... so accessible and relatively "simple" (maybe overtly familiar even), yet doesn't fail to draw a sense of wonder, nostalgia, love and The Sopranos memories from me, everytime.

Oh honey, I'm a Carmen girl... and no...it's not because I've slept with a lot of men and am always Bizet...
Here's a video of the magnificent Maria Callas wishing she was a pole dancer... (that opening has some great bumps & grinds).
