Jamie Lee Curtis is an actress with a great film career, and although at some point the possibility of her being nominated for an Oscar (A Fish Called Wanda, True Lies) was discussed, she never got it.- This year it seemed that this dream was going to come true thanks to the unexpected success of the public and critics of Everything Everywhere All at Once. Despite the appearance of a controversy about the Nepobabies, they can shake the possibility of getting the statuette. Jamie Lee Curtis is the daughter of Oscar nominees Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, yet she achieved a career despite her parents' fame, making a name for herself with horror, action and comedy films that her parents would never have considered making. I do have an opinion on the nepo baby discourse bc I think it's fucked up seeing bitter people dismiss and dehumanize people who have worked and earned their place in the business despite their privilege. It's unfair, and I've seen many nasty comments.

For every Jane Fonda there were 2 dozens of Frank Sinatra Jr.-
I think that awarded movie actors, have 2 things in common, talent and photogenic. Not always the talent and the photogenic are inherited. But the possibilities of having a photogenic child ideal for movies, from a Film Couple (or one is a film actor/actress the other an equally goodlooking partner) is more common than for the rest of the mortals couple.-
Sometimes not only inherit the good lucks, but also the talent. And if they parent are also theatrical actors, this children knows how to recite shakespeare before learn to write and read.-
So now, in my early fortiest, definitive I have no trouble with nepo babies.
However I remember my teenage year when the nepo babies won oscar just for being nepo babies (sometimes, also a great performance help, but others were below than avarage). First 1995/96 won Nicholas Cage and Mira Sorvino Oscar. Both nepobabies. Not only but also Susan Sarandon won an oscar for being directed by her husband Tim Robbins (who was a famous actor, but not even in his best year, was as famous as his former wife) In 1996/97 won Frances McDormand (not a nepobaby but a director's wife). Also won Cuba Gooding Jr. (apparently his father Cuba Gooding Sr. was a kind of famous actor/singer, however. The first time I heard of Gooding Sr. was his obituary). 1997/8 won Helen Hunt the daugher and niece of Film and TV directors. Despite that her win, was more because she was a famous Sitcom TV star.- 1998/9 Gwyneth Paltrow is the epitome of what a Nepobaby is 1999/2000 Angelina Jolie, Jon Voight daugther-
The nepobabies Golden Age at Oscars ended in 2000/1, when Kate Hudson lost the Oscar in favor of Marcia Gay Harden, despite the fact she was the frontrunner, and Harden lost almost all the big precursors.- After that Jeff Bridges won an Oscar, but at that time, he was much more famous and more a household name than Lloyd Bridges.-
But after a large introduction, now I will answer your Question. I have no evidence at all. But I'm totally surprise that Vanessa Redgrave daughters Natasha and Joely never received an Oscar Nomination as actresses. Poor Natasha will never receive one. Joely the only time I heard some Oscar buzz, was with Girl with the Dragoon Tatoo. She was much better than Rooney Mara. But her role was small and the movie was a flop (no matter what David Fincher die hard fans said). But yes. Maybe Natasha and Joely never had the Vanessa Redgrave talent (something almost impossible for almost any human being) but both were very good actresses, were charismatic, and unlike their mother were pretty and hot as hell. And they had some proyect that could delivered an Oscar Nom, but unfortunately their Oscar buzz spike like a balloon.-
Other example is Drew Barrymore, she had for a while the boxoffice power, but despite early Oscar buzz for some proyects, she was never taken seriously for an Oscar Nomination. I guess right now is a retired actress, that works as a TV host (for which she is earning more money than in films).-

I am not sure why you brought this up. Pretty much everybody in Hollywood is a nepo. They received several awards including Golden Globes nominations, usually on TV. Barrymore also Emmy nominations as actress. But also they were awarded for films in indie but prestigious awards. The nepobabies have the adventage of comeback. They could comeback several times. That someone who isnt a nepo and was born and lives in Wichita, have lesser opportunities and just one comeback (in case they succeed). I agree that most of actors are nepobabies, and this have sense. But that partially explain above. When Will Smith needed a kid to portray his son, why dont hire Jaden Smith? Someone as a kid, could portray better the Will Smith children than his own ones?. And even when probably there are better Child actors, but Jaden has the physique to the role. Weird should be seen Hayley Joel Osmond, Freddie Highmore or Daniel Radcliffe as Christopher Gardner Jr in The Persuit of Hsppiness.
