Elvis continuously getting in cinematography over Banshees is going to be the death of me.

I thought I was being clever predicting that Fraser snub.

Looks like Mescal is best actor nominee numero 5.

I’m surprised that Aftersun missed screenplay and director. Looks like only Mescal is getting something.

Looks like Mescal is best actor nominee numero 5. Maybe but he could've easily have been a jury save, particularly since Aftersun didn't overperform.

Yeah, dissappointed in the showing for Aftersun. I even had a small hope for Corio! Really hoping Mescal makes it for the oscar nom, though.
Thrilled at the Tar love. Definitely struck me as something BAFTA would embrace from the get go.

Once again, my de Armas and Redmayne early predictions are looking great so I’ll tout those and ignore my poorer ones.

Great to see the AQOTWF love. Especially that supporting actor nomination, would be sweet if schuch landed an oscar nom

The top 4 seems pretty air-tight. I do think he's in the fifth slot right now (when there's no consistency, always default to BAFTA), but Aftersun underperformed here and I think he was definitely a jury save.

I'm predicting Mescal for the same reason I'm predicting Redmayne. I really can't think of a better option. He's sort of the talk of the town right now with the casting announcements. I think that helps with the overall visibility.

I think that helps with the overall visibility. I think if there's an actor who hit all the precursors who gets snubbed at the end the way we've been seeing lately, Redmayne's the likeliest. But he is campaigning his ass off and he fits the bill if we're thinking a previous nominee/winner is in and it's not Pitt.

That mysterious jury is losing power by the day... bafta is playing once again as oscar prognosticators, a few inspired choices (Emma Thompson, Park, Field) though...
Not sure where I read it but apparently this year the jury only was able to choose half of the nominees not four...

I didn't notice Close was snubbed in international feature. Bummer. Happy that Corsage and The Quiet Girl made it in though.

Happy for The Batman's cinematography nom but sad its score is not getting any love at all.

Sill waiting on the Top Gun faithful to chime in. Well I’d make the argument that BAFTA is irreverent for Top Gun. It needs to win PGA.

Did they do away with that bizarre jury system? These nominations seem... normal.
