Michelle, my belle... why'd you have to do it? Still think she's safe at the Oscars. Hoping for a last-minute shock Supporting placement a-la Stanfield for "Judas and the Black Messiah"

You clearly failed math. Nomadland won without SAG Ensemble nom You mean the film that won Director and Actress?? Top Gun isn't getting a single above the line nom, and only two films in history have ever won BP without a single SAG nom. You do the math. Nice crystal ball you got there. Your predictions have failed so far and I expect them to follow. Just give it up and keep watching whatever capeshit is out right now

These are pretty solid.
And Sandler is 100% deserving. He was great in Hustle and the movie was also excellent.

Also, looks like my Redmayne and Ana de Armas predictions are starting to look pretty good.

Butler will probably win here but with Banshees with 5 nominations and Fraser who coattailed Chau this is closer than we think. I think Farrell still has the edge and I'm not sure why people are thinking he's not in contention for it. He's got the strongest film of the three, he's been in the industry long enough, banner year, and he fits the general profile of a Best Actor winner in terms of age and career path. I get that the performance isn't as outwardly baity as what Butler and Fraser are doing, but Farrell has been racking them up and hasn't really lost any momentum, and he's the likely BAFTA frontrunner. I think Butler's a solid second placer right now who could overtake in the home stretch, but I think it's still Colin's to lose.

I'll be honest, I didn't expect Banshees to do so well here.

Though to be fair, I actually don't think I've seen many people with that mindset.

The only Mescal going to the Oscars will be in the flask that Guillermo del Toro sneaks in. Just wanted to do the joke...

It's quietly racking them up without getting (so far) caught in the backlash crossfire. In fact, I am surprised Elvis didn't hit SAG Ensemble here.

That Babylon nomination I guess makes sense because of the cast, subject matter, and promotion, but it still feels the most wtf to me because it didn’t even get in anywhere else, and it wasn’t like something like House of Gucci which critics might not have liked but people went to see. Just surprised it got in over possibilities like The Woman King and Elvis.

Fraser, and I'm like, "Have you not seen this guy sucking up all the critical momentum and whose film is transitioning very nicely into industry prizes?"

Agreeing with Mescal for the 5th slot after he gets a Bafta nod.

Potential hot take: If Quan wasn't a factor, I actually think Keoghan would win the Oscar.

The Fabelmans only received a nomination for Dano. No Michelle Williams.

Banshees and Everything has the most nominations - 4
Do people here still like Top Gun for Best Picture?

Glad to be proven wrong Its over-performance at guilds made me think it could potentially be peaking at the right time and while it doesn't have as huge an ensemble as the ones who did get nominated, there were very logical reasons to think it could get in over Babylon or Women Talking, especially as those two films couldn't even get an individual acting nod.
