It's good for Avatar 2, given the box office and theater climax. It should open over 140m, however I'll admit I wish it had done more. Christmas legs should help, however the pandemic is killing the movie in China, which is still a problem.

Will be curious to see where this finishes domestically.

Will be curious to see where this finishes domestically. Christmas legs will probably make the difference. Don't think it'll quite as do as well as Maverick, though.

I guess it's fine for Avatar 2 considering the circumstances, but man I wish it was doing even better. Please have good legs, though.

Avatar 2 had a good Saturday increase as expected. Crossing my fingers for some great legs in the next few weeks.

What interests me is how the Avatar movies are gonna do in the future. The second one is definitely a huge event, even if it didn't fully meet the overly high expectations. I'm sure it'll play wonderfully during the upcoming weeks. But there won't (presumably ) be a 13-year break between #2 and #3 and then between #3 and #4. After this one Avatar turns into a full-on franchise with movies coming out every 2 years so I'm really curious how that'll play out.

The sequel was definitely hurt a bit by China's lockdown again, but you are right about the whole decade + release of the second film. Definitely think the novelty of a long-awaited follow-up will fade, but the third movie should still do well irregardless.

Didn’t the original only make like $80mil opening weekend? I know you gotta adjust for inflation but I think this’ll be fine
