Kate Hudson never in her entire life has been as hot as Madelyn Cline. Like huh?

Better than the first one by a hair, but still nothing particularly special. The ending was kind of stupid.

I had loads of fun with the premise. I did key in on the glass switcheroo and figured that Bautista's character died by an allergic reaction, but I thought it was because Norton was so overly paranoid he was killing off everyone he thought had a motive to kill him. But I have to say, in an era where Elon Musk is self-immolating, this felt potently topical.
Craig was phenomenal, even better than the first one. Monae was sensational and they would be perfectly deserving of a nomination (but in lead, not supporting). Also really loved Norton (FYC his Frank T.J. Mackey look for Best Costume Design) and Hudson. That said, I did find Hahn to be somewhat wasted (to say nothing of the fact they cast Dallas Roberts as her husband and then did nothing with him!) and I thought Leslie Odom, Jr. was kinda stilted and charmless.
I hope the next one takes place at a snowed-in ski resort in the Alps or something. I need Benoit Blanc to break his leg on a slope and have to solve a mystery Rear Window-style.

I'm not saying to do the plot of Rear Window. I'm saying that it would be fun to have Blanc have to contend with a broken leg and a wheelchair while having to corral a lodge full of murder suspects.

Then Hugh Grant has to be the one pushing him around. I wouldn't mind that necessarily, but I kinda would feel like that would make take away from the at-arm's-length aspect of Blanc if his loved one was in the middle of it all as well. I like the idea that Blanc is never himself in danger, but if Phillip is there as well I feel that would cloud his judgment and make things personal. But I definitely think Phillip has to at least be the film in some capacity, either on a Skype/Zoom call when Blanc tells him he broke his leg but he'll be fine, or showing up at the very end once all the shenanigans are over and he gives Blanc a wry look and a "We should think about Cancun next year."

Snakes on a Plane: A Knives Out Mystery. Snakes on a Money Plane in Hollywood: A Knives Out Mystery. Finally the climactic faceoff between Benoit Blanc and Darius Emmanuel Grouch the third (aka the rumble) that we've all been waiting for.

If we can face-swap The Edge's face with Daniel Craig's in the scene where Darius Emmanuel Grouch III (a.k.a. The Rumble) explains what the Money Plane is, that's gold on the fucking table.

Hokey liberal garbage made by a chronically online Twitter liberal for resistance liberals who think correcting Trump’s grammar is activism
This movie was plain terrible including the acting. Kate Hudson and Janelle Monae were the worst actors. Monae especially was amateur, and it’s shocking anyone thinks she was good or nomination worthy. Nomination for what? MTV movie award?
The celebrity cameos, name dropping, and stupid pop culture references were all so cringe. But the dialogue was definitely the worst part of this stupid stupid movie
It’s INSANE people are eating this up and Netflix paid half a billion for this and 3rd movie. But at the same time, I shouldn’t be surprised. This movie is just full of pandering bullshit and Twitter speak. It’s nauseating
I actually saw a bunch of braindead liberals defend Johnson’s horrendous on the nose dialogue as “necessary” in these troubled times. Like these people really think bad artistic choices are a political act, an act of resistance. It’s embarrassing.
I feel like Will Ferrell’s character in Zoolander who says “I feel like I’m taking crazy pills” when I see people praise this movie as genius. Oh wow Glass Onion called Elon Musk stupid, how brave! How revolutionary! 🙄

A handsomely mounted, compelling mystery with some hilarious moments thrown in but it's not as riveting and memorable as its predecessor. Starts well with intros and setup and felt like it missed the second act and jumped to a lengthy third act with a drawn-out climax.
Daniel Craig once again shined in his role. Norton and Monae did fine.

I was so amped for this one, and Edward Norton in a whodunit - count me in, always.
But it really fell short for me in the over the top antics of the third act. I feel like the plot started unraveling and none of the individual characters or arcs ended up mattering once we got to the big reveal about halfway in. Also what the hell was the point of that random “comedic relief” type character that served no purpose in the background? Idk certain things just ended up feeling meaningless by the end of it. Also not a satisfying takedown.
It was no where as close to as satisfying as the first movie. Still fun, okay cast (Norton, Monae, Hudson and Craig were good to great), amazing wardrobe, but disappointing.
6/10

I can’t believe Janelle Monae is getting Oscar buzz for her bad, shockingly amateur performance in this abomination. The only decent performances in this movie were from Edward Norton and Kathryn Hahn. Everyone else was either blandly competent or straight up bad (Monae and Hudson)

Parts of it defy all decent logic but it's still entertaining which for me is all I care about when I'm watching something like this.

I watched it again, and I still love it. And as far as the murder mystery goes, and people thinking it’s too obvious… yeah, it is, but so are almost all Murder mysteries. So this is only my experience, but I never find whodunnits shocking. My family hates to play Clue and Among Us with me, or to watch mysteries with me, because I can instantly sus the killer out. They’ve joked that I should have joined the FBI because of it. (See also; I instantly pinpointed the killer in See How They Run) But pushing my experiences aside, let me ask this: Name me one Murder mystery where the killer reveal is actually surprising. Then after that, how many of those movies are actually rewatchable? Actually good, entertaining movies in their own right that can survive away from the mystery. I’d actually say the murder mystery is not what makes these movies great, and honestly, I’d argue we’re consuming Knives Out the wrong way if that’s the focus. It’s not so much the mysteries that make these movies so good, but the winding, often absurd representation of the genre’s played out, silly tropes, and the cheeky, knowing way they play into them as much as they upend them. The identical twin gambit is literally the embodiment of the way these movies both revere, and lampoon those mysteries. And yes, the real strength is just how rewatchable they are to me. I know what happens, I’ve solved the mystery… and yet I want to keep going back.
