Highlight of the Glass Onion q/a was Daniel Craig being very hungover. God, I would love an Agatha Christie-esque whodunit where the detective is just extremely fucking hungover. "The murderer is... fuck, close the goddamn blinds... someone tell that dog to shut up... ah, to hell with it, it's that guy."

The Good Nurse:
Probably not an Oscars thing, but I'm looking forward to this. Big fan of the book, and I could use a slow-burn procedural.

Redmayne reminds me of one of those performances that gets into one of the major precursors (or even 2) but never really stands a chance at a nomination.

For this years Critics Choice top 3 predictions (in no order) I’m going to go with last years model (and 2/3 of the year before) of…
One conventional crowd pleaser (Fablemans) , one critics favorite (The Banshees of Inisherin) and one Canadian (Brother)
Things don’t ever work out this way but it was fun.

Every reaction I’ve read for All Quiet in the Western front is giving me foreign film front runner/ sneaky director nomination vibes. Also Netflix doesn’t have much else going on this year.

The Greatest Beer Run Ever starts at 25 on MC after 6 reviews. Probably will end up in the 40s.

Just thought I'd drop in here to say that in my respective screenings, Decision to Leave had a fairly tepid response, whilst Triangle of Sadness played through the roof.

Luckily, I got over it pretty quickly and was still able to go to my last 2 screenings ( Women Talking and Banshees).

Thoughts on Women Talking's BP chances now having seen it?

I definitely think it gets nominated, but I don't think it'll be win competitive. Also very curious to see where the consensus falls in regards to Whishaw's performance, and Foy v Buckley.

Honestly if we only had 5 Best Picture nominees The Fablemans and Women Talking would be the only two I would be completely confident predicting.
