Trust me I would've preferred to put a gif of him saying "excellent choice".

Well, it isn't a *bad* choice, but we do have John Williams right next to him. I'll take it, though.

DAMN STRAIGHT ON THAT PRODUCTION DESIGN WIN. DAMN STRAIGHTI don't generally like the aesthetics of Tim Burton's films, but goddamn it, Sleepy Hollow is arguably a top ten winner of all time in Production Design.

I had a sudden fear that Helena Bonham Carter would rear her head here, but I'll take this (even though I think, as with Supporting Actor, the wrong Magnolia member was chosen).

Toni Collette winning significantly softens the sting of Dequenne's inevitable defeat

I guess I just don't love this year much. The winners and nominees so far all leave me very cold.

Eh, I'd rather have taken Galaxy Quest or Topsy-Turvy due to Moore's histrionics.

NO South Park was robbed. Brian Boitano would use his magical fire breath to save the AMARA fair

Again, I love Magnolia, but any movie that has Julianne Moore giving that performance disqualifies itself for the win.
Also, can I just say that I am fucking surprised Topsy-Turvy garnered this amount of support on this board. Nobody talks about that movie here, even among the Mike Leigh fandom.

I would be very interested in the vote tally for Adapted, because I saw a way six of these films could've won it, and I bet it was a very close call.
