Anyone check this out? Found it extremely watchable and burned thru it in just a couple days. Jeremy Allen White plays it a bit to close to his Lip character from Shameless but carves out some really nice moments, especially in the last couple of episodes. Really love the frantic energy of the kitchen scenes.

there was no hype for this thing AT ALL when it first dropped so it's very cool seeing how popular it's become. Can't wait to check it out

Finally caught up with this. Super entertaining show. Very funny and while the drama seemed trope-y at first, it landed as the season went on. Great setting work, great needle drops, great performances especially from Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Ayo Edebiri. Can't wait to see more of this because I can really see it going up from here.

3 eps in and really enjoying this. The chaotic energy of the pilot is very Safdie Bros but I'm glad it's mellowed out a bit and is growing into its characters. Great work from White, Edebiri and Moss-Bachrach so far. Hoping to see more McHale as the abusive former chef and definitely looking forward to that Bernthal guest spot.

This thing was giving me the kind of stress I don't need from a TV show (Moss-Bachrach is fucking incredible) and just when you think it's starting to calm down it fucking NAILS you with that penultimate episode (director nominations better all be for this one) and by that point, I was just sitting there thinking how this thing better have something resembling a happy ending, or else fuck it all to hell. And then... LET DOWN Jonny Bernthal deserves a goddamn guest Emmy just for that last shot. Also, this thing being classed as a comedy is seriously funny to me.

I loved this. It can make 20 minutes feel like 5 seconds. I wish there was more of Joel McHale (who was criminally underused but just that small glimpse was good). More of everything, really. Jeremy Allen White is a beast.

It's a comedy because Moss-Bachrach spikes the drinks at a kid's birthday party with xanax.

Just started watching. Only complaint would the bite-sized episodes, but listen; Mr. Ebon Moss-Bachrach needs to turn me inside out NOW. Goddamn!

Just saw the pilot. It's off to a promising start but nothing truly impressive yet, though I've heard nothing but raves. Looking forward to the rest.

Really love the frantic energy of the kitchen scenes. Agreed, i see this show as "Lip found his calling in the world of culinary arts". But I'm fine with it, to fill the void of Shameless, at its peak. It's great, I love the dynamic between Carm and Sydney, and each of them with the rest of the staff. I don't think the chef world has been explored in fiction (at least, not that I've seen), so it feels new. Loved the finale.

Burned thru season 2 pretty quickly. Really solid and so watchable. And hella great guest stars this season.

Second season definitely has some classic sophomore season bloat but for the most part I was too emotionally immersed to really care. It's quite schmaltzy and in the last third of the season I feared it was veering too far into cheesy feel-good territory, and then the finale came along and hit me like a lot of ton of bricks. Kind of surprised and a little jarred by how many threads they leave dangling for the next season.
Not immediately sure if I like it more than the first season... I think it kinda peaks early but I'm impressed with how it manages to pull off a lot of choices that would be missteps in most other shows (bunch of big-name guest stars, aforementioned story bloat, etc.) with confidence and how it maintains the high-anxiety cacophony of the first season while still managing to be sincerely sweet and even romantic. As with the first season, the needle drops are great, it's impressive to see a show that can use The Replacements in one episode and Taylor Swift in the next to equal effectiveness.

2 episodes in to season 2. What's up with the extreme closeups? don't remember seeing these many in season one.

As with the first season, the needle drops are great, it's impressive to see a show that can use The Replacements in one episode Cat's outta the bag. Not one but TWO songs and a character (the great handyman Fak) ranking their albums???

new eps dropping Jun 22. Gonna be even better than S1, I'm calling it I called it. That back half of the season was among the greatest and most intense/cathartic runs of TV eps I've seen in a long time. Apart from a couple slower eps in the first half and Claire verging on MPDG territory, it's practically a perfect season of TV. The guest spots were on fire this season, especially in that chaotic maelstrom that was "Fishes" (nighmarishly good with a few sweet moments between Platt and Moss-Bachrach to cut through the bitterness - and oh my fucking god Odenkirk and Bernthal, and JLC! ). This was better in every way than S1 and I hope this show goes on and on and on because there's so much room for the story to grow. and who wouldda thought Ebon Moss-Bachrach singing along (badly) to Taylor Swift would make me cry. I still can't decide whether "Fishes" or "Forks" was the better episode but both of them made every second count.

Season 2 is the best season of TV I've seen in a while. Recently only Beef compares.
