It doesn’t matter if Russell is seen as overdue or not, or about his past allegations, all that matters is how the film performs and is embraced by the public and Academy members.

And word from test screenings is that it's a mess, but we'll see.

Voted for She Said though I hope it's The Son, which isn't even included as an option in the poll, but The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent somehow is

I’m sticking with Women Talking for now. It seems to be the more pedigreed of the two feminist films and Sarah Polley is very respected. The Fableman’s going to Toronto made me consider picking it. I feel like the time to build buzz and potentially win the audience award could help. Yes the arguments last month for a feminist film winning convinced me to switch this month, but I think Women Talking will be the more pedigreed of the two feminist films as well.

I honestly think that Top Gun has a much better shot at winning BP than several of the movies with votes.

It's so interesting how an *absurd* number of this year's contenders are about Hollywood or movies or are somehow adjacent, and that hasn't been a winning formula in years. Could bode well for something like The Son or Women Talking. Or ... even Top Gun: Maverick??

Voting for EEAAO just to keep it in the poll. Has a better chance than at least half the films there (including Top Gun).

I gotta say, Women Talking sounds like a dismissive boomer's criticism of a movie rather than an actual title.
