Because the mob film legends are dropping like flies. Go easy, big man.

RIP to a tremendous character actor. His moment with his daughter at the Oscars will always be one of my favourites.

These are comin at us too fast. RIP.
I never saw him give an off perf. He was a pro, and had such a way, whenever he wanted, to strike intensity with a single look at you with those eyes... he looked almost like if the moon were Italian. James Earl Jones' Gloucester in King Lear, The Gambler, The Brink's Job, Cruising, That Championship Season (Tony nominee for it too, and directed the remake).... Goodfellas of course (I hold him as co MVP with Liotta and Pesci).... and Nixon which I always wrongly assume he was Oscar nominated for.
I remember once thinking if Sopranos was made a decade or two earlier, he'd make a fine Tony.

Goodfellas becoming an increasingly sadder movie by the day. I'm pretty sure the first time I saw him was in Baz's Romey and Jules, and that scene where he flies off the fucking chain at Danes was, and is, like the scariest angry scene I've ever seen in my life. Also, him bawling his eyes out when Mira won Supporting Actress is one of my favourite Oscar memories. Farewell, legend.

Was always a pleasure to see him on screen.....I like him in Dick Tracy as Lips Manlis too - his sparring with Madonna is quite funny "I get sick watching you eat"........"you didn't used to"........"you didn't used to be a zeppelin" while he's slurping down oysters Poor Lips he never saw it comin' RIP

They're putting together one hell of a mob movie in the hereafter. I hope to see it one day. RIP.

I do have to give a shout-out to Sorvino's stint as Lennie Briscoe's predecessor on Law & Order. The Cerreta stuff is obviously obscure in comparison to when Orbach took the reins, but Sorvino was a really good addition to the crew and he had great chemistry with Chris Noth's Logan. It was always a shame he didn't get to last longer.
