As expected, big for Thor.

Good for Thor 4, but WOM seems very mixed. It's the third Marvel film this past year to get a B+ or lower cinemascore. Top Gun: Maverick took a hit, but is still chugging along.

Hmmmm..it seems that after Endgame, this phase of Marvel isn't hitting as hard quality wise with the fans and critics alike. Although to be fair, they never were going to continue that high standard they were doing in the 2010s with their films, but lately with Eternals, Dr. Strange 2, and now this latest Thor movie they’ve been slipping.

It was going to happen eventually. Even superhero movie dominance has to end. It also doesn't help that the market is overful with MCU content, between the movies and the various Disney + TV Shows.

Agreed, wonder if that played a part in Top Gun:Maverick excelling the way it is. A big spectacle event film that gives audiences a break from the superhero genre. Along with Cruise, the nostalgia factor, dogfight scenes, etc.

Thor 4 having a solid weekend. With summer weekends, and the lack of major competition, it could do about 320m. It's missing 1 Billion Worldwide, though.

Having seen Maverick, Thor, and Minions in the same weekend…
Things are WEIRD…
