It changes all the time and it's hard enough to leave some out, so I'll only name living ones in alphabetical order:
Jeff Bridges Nicolas Cage Tom Cruise Willem Dafoe Robert De Niro Gene Hackman Dustin Hoffman Jeremy Irons Harvey Keitel John Lithgow Jack Nicholson Al Pacino Tim Roth Donald Sutherland Christopher Walken

Just males?
Leonardo DiCaprio Al Pacino Denzel Washington Ryan Gosling
are first ballot hall of famers for me. They have breadth and depth and palpable electricity in their better work.
After that it gets very tricky. Paul Newman? Jimmy Stewart? Charles Laughton? Javier Bardem? Peak Russell Crowe? Joker Ledger? Oldman? PSH? I could name 50 people in this category for me.

Jackson Viggo Mortensen George C. Scott Changes all the time. Just changed from Lemmon to PSH. Props on the James Mason mention. I don't know why he isn't mentioned more often, considering his resume. Amazing voice.

That's a very good film, definitely one of the better crime/police procedural films to come out of Greece. I hope you liked Nikos Kourkoulos in it as well, as he is my second favourite Greek actor and just missed from this list.

He physically abused Ava Gardner while they were dating. Sinatra let him know what time it was, too.

Albert Finney Al Pacino Peter Falk I love these three so much and that Falk mention! Even his fans prob don't rate him as highly as us. I see De Niro + Pacino in some of his perfs and acting style, like Machine Gun McCain that slick seriousness I get De Niro, and then his Columbo and stuff like Tune in Tmrw, I def get some of Pacino's way with others, his teasing warmth and weird humor (and lots of hair scratching). You also get a lil feel of Brando in Falk's earlier and episodic perfs (The Pigeon, Bloody Brood, etc). But he was unique too, with great range of tone - he could be vulnerable, scarily raw or just playfully featherlight, hilarious.

He's one of the actors in my list along with Laughton whose personal life I know practically nothing about. Scott is always such an overwhelming powerful presence in his films. Great at playing abusive snakes and even better at playing loud assholes, so no wonder he was a snake and an asshole himself. What a shame

We all love and know him as Columbo, but he deserves appreciation for more than that. I swear I could watch that man in anything. Have you seen Mikey and Nicky?

Living. The ones I would pay a ticket for their movies, no matters what there are about.- Unlike many, I don't want to know the plot of a movie before I've seen it.- Because I know that even is it a flop, is worth watching.
Daniel Bruhl Daniel Day Lewis Leonardo Di Caprio
And in no particular order Guillermo Francella Kim Rossi Stuart Oscar Isaac Tom Holland Woody Allen Tahar Rahim Samuel L. Jackson Jason Staham Logan Lerman Ryan Gosling Keanu Reeves Clint Eastwood
Then there are other great actors like Denzel or Al Pacino, but their movies there are not always worth to watch.-
