How many have you seen from this list? List the ones you have yet to see. Which ones are your favorites? Some movies are not on the list, others seem like lesser choices usually not on such a list, do you agree with this list? www.amc.com/movie-guide/tim-dirks-top-100I've seen 66, it's not until Sunset Boulevard appears at number 23 that we get to a movie I have yet to see. I've yet to see: Sunset Boulevard The African Queen Double Indemnity High Noon Notorious Roman Holiday Fantasia Wuthering Heights Mr. Smith Goes to Washington The Third Man The Quiet Man The Searchers Touch of Evil Modern TimesThe Magnificent Ambersons Stagecoach The Big Sleep The Night of the Hunter Ninotchka The General The Gold Rush Yankee Doodle Dandy A Star Is Born The Lady Eve My Darling Clementine Out of the Past The Birth of a Nation Sunrise Greed 42nd Street Trouble in Paradise Intolerance Letter From An Unknown Woman The Crowd
Apparently, I still have a ways to go in my classic film education. My Favorites: It's A Wonderful Life Lawrence of Arabia Psycho Jaws Some Like It Hot King Kong It Happened One Night His Girl Friday

Didn't bother reading the whole thing because the top 10 was pretty by-the-numbers (except for Wizard of Oz - how the hell did it get that high). It's ridiculous lumping all the original SW movies together given the drastic shift in quality between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. It's frankly lazy.
The Shawshank love is unsurprising too, even though it continues to make me queasy. Ben-Hur has no business being as high as #20.

(except for Wizard of Oz - how the hell did it get that high) Whoa, whoa, whoa, what's wrong with The Wizard of Oz? Also, should keep in mind that the exact rankings of the films are determined by fan vote.

I'm usually not one to complain about "Best Of" lists being bland, because that's the whole point of lists like that, but this one was really predictable with a few exceptions.
I liked seeing Roman Holiday and Fantasia ranked so high, and The Magnificent Ambersons and Ninotchka being on the list at all.
I really wish The Graduate was higher. It really ought to always be in the top ten on generic "best movie lists"

I've seen 81 out of the 100 films. Overall, I think that it is a good list with some surprising choices.

I'm missing nine of them. Really bland list, but aren't they always? Personal lists are always so much more exciting; you get classics and little movies and movies that no one really likes, and in personal lists, the compiler can always geek out and defend every choice.

So the 100 best films of all time are all american/english? Riiight...
I've seen nearly a half of those. Not a bad list, it's just its title that should be different.

It's probably because AMC used to stand for American Movie Classics a long time ago, and maybe they wanted to give AFI a run for its money.... Edit: Filmsite, an extra part of AMC, says that the list was limited to only English-language titles.

It would be quicker to list the one's I have seen, I've seen:
The Godfather The Shawshank Redemption The Wizard of Oz To Kill a Mockingbird Star Wars Psycho Schindler's List Rear Window Snow White and the Seven Dwarves Pulp Fiction Jaws 2001: A Space Odyssey Dr. Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb E.T. The Extra Terrestrial Blade Runner
Pulp Fiction, Dr. Strangelove and The Shawshank Redemption are in my Top 25 of all time.

Seen all but 42nd Street. Not bad of a list at all.

Senn 94 (missing 6 are 42nd Street, A Star is Born, Easy Rider, Yankee Doodle Dandy, A Night at the Opera & Wuthering Heights)
Not bad (for a best of Hollywood list) but the voters are dicks.

I've seen 74 of them.
Some terrible choices, some good ones, not a great Top 100 overall.
