I wanna take some time to acknowledge the guys and gals who come in for one scene only and just completely obliterate everyone. The sort of performance that makes you wish the whole movie was about them.
Now yes, I'm sure we'll to the Alec Baldwins and Harriet Sansom Harrises and Christopher Walkens soon, and deservedly so, but I'm gonna kickstart this thread but shouting out Larry Bishop in Kill Bill: Vol. 2. This guy epitomizes sleazy boss energy better than anyone else I can think of. The fact that Tarantino's swan song isn't going to be a whole film devoted to Larry the titty-bar / car-wash owner is why this whole world's going down the drain.

Marlon Brando The Brave
There are several I could name and will get named Mickey Rourke in The Pledge, Bardem in Collateral, even Pacino gently mocking DiCaprio's masculinity in a passing of the torch scene between 2 GOATS level generational Americans in OUATIH - a scene that looked like a throwaway at first but not when you reflect back on it, it's a beautiful scene.
But I'm posting Brando for a couple of reasons. First, when we talk GOATs - there's levels to that shit - Robert Duvall for example is a GOAT, but he ain't Paul Newman who is also a GOAT.......and Paul Newman ain't Brando. There's at least 3 tiers for just those guys alone - that's why we always argue it - because it's "arguable" .........the difference is I could argue several guys as being close to Duvall, several close to Newman and only 3 Americans close to Brando (DePac, Nicholson).
This scene.......in an unsuccessful aritistically movie, late in his career, that no one would list next to his many big ones is EXACTLY why he's in that rarefied air. He is scary, heartbreaking, inimidating, pathetic, suggesting a whole entire backstory when actors who rip him off never stop to the think of their character's backstory AT ALL. He's also gruesomely funny - and Brando is one of those guys in general often arguably missing much comedy much in his career like my list of "big time acclaimed actors who are missing comedy" - to some extent:
Hopkins / DDL / Clift / Washington / Burton / Duvall etc. and Brando oddly funny too - not haha funny, but unsettlingly funny - ie what is specifically funny is how he interprets this part in total - no one would play this, this way........there's a Rolling Stones song "It's the Singer Not The Song" .........that's what this is .......but in acting

I'm gonna throw in one that never gets any respect: Teri Garr in The Conversation. She's not a scene-stealer in any normal sense, but her absence in the rest of the film supplies the loneliness at Harry's core. She may not have a big monologue, but she haunts every minute of the movie.

An underrated one-scene comedic wonder: Liam Dunn in What's Up, Doc? Funniest scene in the movie. "She's your wife and your fiancee?" Another comic goldmine in two minutes: Stephen "PAN SHOT!" Root. It is a very long scene, but August Diehl in Inglourious Basterds is great stuff.

My favorite might have to be Dean Stockwell in Blue Velvet. Talk about making a lasting impression.

Patrick Stewart's cameo in L.A. Story is hysterical, the deleted John Lithgow scene in the same film is pretty good, too.
Also of course, Billy Crystal in The Princess Bride is a perfect use of him.

I'll actually mention the same movie as you but a different person: Michael Parks as Esteban Vihaio. I think Parks and QT achieved exactly the miracle they were hoping for: I genuinely didn't know that it was Parks until I learned so through the credits. Among the definitive brief performances for me:
Another one-scene all-timer for me is Jo Van Fleet in "Cool Hand Luke". An example of how to make a very small appearance in a movie and turn it into something completely unforgettable:

Donald Sutherland - JFK. Another longish scene but he completely floors us (and convinces us).

Yeah, many on here dissaprove of the film, Crash. However, David/Fichtner knocked it out of the park for me with their only scene.
