I have been woefully behind on docs the last year, and I'm feeling like getting caught up. Any documentaries out there worth checking out, especially ones off the beaten path?

Yes! I'll throw more support to some of the more popular ones -- Billie Eilish: The World's a Little Blurry, Flee, The Rescue, Velevet Underground, Summer of Soul are all definitely worth checking out. the more off-the-beaten-path titles would be: - Tina (biography of Tina Turner beautifully directed T.J. Martin & Daniel Lindsay, the duo behind LA. 92) - Attica (features incredible interview footage from former inmates and law enforcement combined with chilling archival footage of the uprising and later carnage) - Jacinta, which follows a drug addicted woman's stints in prison and rehab and her wrestling to come to terms with an extremely abusive childhood and her own failings as a mother. Total gut-punch of a film and very off the beaten path (under 500 views on letterboxd).
