Oh fuck, I didn't even know he was sick. RIP
Always loved this scene of him and Eddie together from Beverly Hills Cop II

Wow, I had no idea he was so sick. His voice, real or not, was one of the most unique things in the world, and I loved him as Iago in Aladdin, and whenever he would up for a bit in a movie, like the previously listed scene in Beverly Hills Cop II. RIP, and my condolences to his family.

When I tell you I used to laugh my ass off listening to him on Howard Stern's show back in the day (when Stern was good and, actually, fuck you, Stern for icing him out). He was Stern's greatest guest. He made you laugh at stuff you didn't want to, but I like that he was an equal opportunity offender. I actually watched his documentary and found him to be sad, shy, and trapped in his quirkiness. My favorite thing he did that would have me in tears - and no comedian would think to do something this eccentric and random - is his impression of Groucho Marx. Except his Groucho Marx would be old Groucho Marx rambling on the Dick Cavett show saying "back in my day..." for everything.

BTW, if you want to know what his real voice sounded like, listen:

If anyone's interested in cherry-picking the Amazing Colossal Podcast...
3 x Artie Lange Bill Persky Danny Aiello 2 x Weird Al Steven Wright Paul Reiser ("he's not funny", really?) Jeffrey Tambor - essentially as Hank Kingsley Alan Zweibel (the return) Gianni Russo Gino Conforti Phil Rosenthal Barry Sonenfield TWZ Columbo Abbott and Costello... if any of these three are your thing Mike Reiss (for The Simpsons) Robert Wuhl Dan Harmon Bob Zmuda Dick Van Dyke Jay Thomas Craig Bierko
