They are everywhere where I live - and I live in a Blue State - not just at gas pumps but in the supermarket next to price signs........they raise sort of a goofy but somewhat serious question too: When did the Right Wing become so um - not witty........but ......snarky or this cleverly subversive (stretching the meaning of "cleverly" here).......with this and the "Let's Go Brandon" thing ..........I can't remember the Republican Party ever being "hip" - if this is hip (again stretching it) I mean......like.......ever in American history? What's interesting about it - is that literally is a destruction (sort of) of property - a very non-Conservative idea - and what those people will say is "Fnck you, Black Lives Matter rioters (not protestors)" (or Antifa - they actually do exist) burned half of this town down and looted too".......the flipside of that is the anti-Trump people literally would say "Fnck Trump" - no euphemism at all, it was direct and logical .......this not so much on the surface at least........that's telling I think - the country is center-Right atm, I think you could say normally it's center-Left .......the people spreading the stickers see themselves and are acting like a radical minority politically ...........which is just odd It makes you wonder that if the Right dominates mid-terms if their behavior will then become less jokey and more.....overtly aggressive actually (and yes I know some of it is quite aggressive too - but I mean if we won't see this "just a joke" aspect as much)

Lucky you. We pay gas up to 2.5 euro per liter - it means 10.40 per gallon.

It’s kinda funny to me and a good example of why losing the election was the best thing that could’ve happened to trump. Idk how much of a factor inflation is playing in terms of rising gas prices compared to the energy policies of the Biden admin but inflation is indeed a big factor and the inflation problem is trump’s creation, but the admin wants to blame Russia for inflation + gas prices and pass up a golden opportunity to blame trump when the cataclysmic mess actually is his doing. The one time they pass up the opportunity to blame trump is when they should be hitting him harder than they ever have. 🤦🏻♂️ Biden isn’t the one who authorized the federal reserve to print over half the dollars in existence 2 years ago to bail out fucking airlines and other businesses too stupid to keep a rainy day fund while everyone else was bribed with a stimmy to go along with the plan no questions asked. Anyone who’s taken a basic economics class should’ve been able to easily tell you how this would inevitably end

I think it definitely had to be concurrently with the rise of trump and “meme warfare” while also being a reaction to the left’s long cultural position of strength, but mainly the former point. The first euphemism you start seeing the right use during this era is the whole “the left can’t meme” thing (they still can’t, except for tankies). The “Let’s Go Brandon” thing can’t really be credited to the right as it was a dumbass nascar reporter who started that shit by trying to pass off the “FJB” chant as them cheering for poor Brandon who just won the race, when anyone with one working ear could’ve told you that’s obviously not what the fans were chanting. I’d call this one more of a self inflicted wound by the left than the right being “hip”. Will say that it does seem like the right has learned to have a bit of fun instead of being self righteous grumpy old men every minute of every day and that certainly helps with image

Might as well just accept it at this point.... that goes for the deniers and overly hopeful people too.

pacinoyes - Do you live in a rural area, though? That seems to be the real deciding factor.

pacinoyes - Do you live in a rural area, though? That seems to be the real deciding factor. Small town-y suburban charming / quaint rather than we don't have indoor plumbing rural..........the kind of town where a guy says "I'd like to introduce you to my wife and my sister" and there's only one person standing next to him .........my gf pointed out that all the convenience stores and gas stations are located on two big roads that run parallel to each other and are separated by a few minutes ............so she thinks it's just a few people with an organized plan of mucking things up rather than a lot of people - which is possible / likely. Once you get out of our town you can still see 'em but it is not as noticeable .........probably the same people that steal Amazon packages off of your porch and shoplift in bulk from pharmacies and stuff.......the petty criminal as a targeted voting block ........um

Live in suburban Maryland, just about 20 minutes from Baltimore with traffic, and I see them at about half the gas stations nearby.

I said in regards to Trump in one of the covid threads that the economy is a "no excuses" area with voters. If the economy is bad and you're in charge it's your fault, Trump couldn't blame covid and Biden can't blame Trump or Russia now. To be honest I think Russia is a better excuse since nothing comes off as lamer than trying to blame your predecessor for everything, even if it actually his fault in some circumstances.

Not that blaming your predecessor isn’t lazy/lame/played out but the problem with blaming Russia is that the Democrats have been beating that dead horse since 2016 plus inflation and gas prices have been on the rise for so long before the invasion that most people simply aren’t buying that excuse even if they think Putin is the antichrist. Kinda goes back to your “no excuses” point
