Good thing they postponed, or else they might've had to think for themselves...

Good thing they postponed, or else they might've had to think for themselves... On a semi-related note, is Jessica Chastain about to be the first person to win an Oscar for a film in which there is a star-wipe transition?

I am excited that you guys were wrong about Smith and the Baftas and I was right. You weren't the only one predicting Smith for the BAFTA. I have the receipts. This board argued against Smith winning due to race. I said that whoever wins the Sag was likely winning bafta. You guys diagreed.

You guys diagreed. There were valid arguments because, well, BAFTA's got a nasty history of that sort of thing. No one should make definitive statements (i.e. people predicting Stewart to have the Oscar locked-and-loaded months and months ago) when it's all about the tide turning, but there were people (myself included) who openly predicted Smith to take the BAFTA, especially if he won SAG. The receipts are there as well.

Stewart was the early front runner, Chastain wasn't predicted. Same with Smith-McPhee and Kotsur. People here were convinced that Smith wasn't going to win BAFTA. And The Power of the Dog has under performed with the Guilds.

You guys diagreed. Had nothing to do with race buddy, not sure why you keep saying that. Rather BAFTA will sometime favor home court advantage particularly in films they love. Like CHIWETEL EJIOFOR for 12 Years a Slave over the snubbed McConaughey. Colin Firth for a Single Man over Bridges. Daniel Day-Lewis over Brody. Jamie Bell over Russell Crowe. We weren't pulling the idea out of nowhere.

You’ve brought it up like 6 times and has nothing to do with what we are talking about.

Dune just refuses to win an editing award but I’m still going to predict it because of the sound connection.

Kenneth wins Original. WSS wins Editing. That means King Richard is the favorite to win.
