wow. all time performance in a series by butler. apparently the 4th biggest upset in playoff history too. He scored a lot of points in this game, but it was no way comparable to the previous one. He missed a bunch of big shots at the end but it didn't matter because the Bucks had a 4th quarter so bad it sailed right through comedy into headache inducing tragedy. Embarrassing stuff. Kings were only a little bit better in their own 4th Different year, same old shit.

Lot of thoughts on that Heat/Bucks series:
- Was talking to a friend of mine at the start of the playoffs and said I thought Butler was the closest thing the game currently has to Michael Jordan as far as his tenacity, playing the passing lanes, and scoring profile. That comparison is looking pretty good right now; Jesus Christ was Butler incredible. If he could play this hard in the regular season, he'd easily be in the conversation for best player in the game. Been the best player in the playoffs 3 of the last 4 years (20, 22, and now 23).
- Coach Bud needs to go. He's been riding the coattails of Giannis's 2021 Finals performance and thoroughly outcoached in playoff losses to Udoka and Spoelstra. That 4th quarter last night was embarrassing, but the complete lack of adjustments all throughout the series when Butler and Butler alone was destroying your defense is ridiculous. Especially when you have an incredible coach like Spoelstra doing shit like this on the other side:
I hear Nick Nurse is available.
- Giannis will probably be able to get it back, but I refuse to call him the best player in the world now. Even with the incompetence of your coach, you can't lose as a #1 seed in the first round in only 5 games. I know, he was hurt and effectively out the first three games, but you can't come back and turn the ball over a dozen times and miss your free throws if you're the man. He had the better, deeper team and instead of putting them on his back to finish off what was expected to be an easy series, he runs away from the ball late because he's scared of getting fouled. Come on.

Come on. coach bud winning the chip in 21β has definitely prolonged his stay. he was never a good coach imo and if they were knocked out by the nets that year (they were a toe length away from it), he wouldβve been gone long ago. to not call a timeout with 0.5 seconds left on a tied game to advance the ball and get some type of potential quality shot off? i donβt understand the reasoning, and thatβs just one of many things. spoelstra is a top 3 coach in the league imo which further exposed buds coaching ability this series. giannis has been talking about the non adjustments in the press conferences so i think heβs gone. funny enough, i was thinking earlier yesterday βdo the bucks fire bud if they lose this series and do they hire nurse in the off seasonβ. thatβd put them in a better position for the future.

those last 4 minutes reminded me of what the celtics look like when theyβre playing at their best
gotta close out on the three and box out this next series. i donβt wanna see that amount of open threes and offensive rebounds in another series.

yeah this boston team isnβt winning a chip too many glaring flaws. no reason to lose tonight I'd still say Boston probably has the inside leverage on making it out of the East. Embiid being hurt will happen the 76ers and the shooting they had from deep tonight is unsustainable. Meanwhile on the other side of the bracket the only thing worth worrying about is Jimmy Butler and he's already limping under the weight of carrying the Heat.

I get the Suns are spooked by being blowout in series-clinching games in back-to-back years, but this year at least wasn't on Monty. The KD trade gutted their depth and forced them in the playoffs to play a super-tight rotation with a team that barely had time to play together. CP3 getting hurt didn't help matters. Monty is a damn good coach who did an excellent job developing the Suns' young talent and overcoming their playoff inexperience to make them top contenders.
He deserved the respect to be granted a longer leash, but it isn't all that surprising the Suns' reactionary ass front office refused. If the Ishibas had owned the Heat after the 2014 Finals, they probably would've fired Spoelstra.

All that talk by the pundits about JokiΔ not having enough playoff success. All that bitching Embiid did for the MVP. What a fucking joke.

Man, there is going to be some coaching musical chairs this summer. I wonder which of these guys is going to end up without a job.

Damn. NBA sucked after Jordan retired, and I've rarely followed after, but dang what a tip in by Boston..... Game 7 is now must see. I'm gonna take a night off work for it.
Heat should've never gotten that 3 point foul call anyways, so they can't blame the refs for that gift.

Derrick WHITE! The NBA are getting a little unrealistic with these finishes, I know theyβre being written by scabs, but come on. Thatβs not believable.

Anyway, Jimmy Buckets has the chance to well and truly solidify his legend right now, and this soft as babyshit Celtics team who have zero eye of the tiger until their backs are against the wall get to show what they are made of.

Texted a friend yesterday that I was hoping the Celtics would win a tight game 6, feel like they have all the momentum in the world, and then get blown out on their home court by 50. I will die laughing if something like that ends up actually happening.

celtics hit their lowest amount of threes in the past 100 games (heat hit twice as many threes), celtics shot their lowest % from three all season at 20% (heat shot almost 50% from three), heat got more offensive rebounds (took 15 more shots total), and had 7 less turnovers and only shot 5 less free throws
how in the hell did celtics win that. iβm still shaking from that derrick white tip in. jobs not done though, history still needs to be made on monday. in game 7βs anything can happen. hoping celtics can pull it off
