this celtics team is special, wow. better than last years with tatum and brown taking their game to the next level, derrick white working on his jumper in the off season, and the addition of brogdon.
all of this too without their defensive anchor all season (whom they get back very soon).

Fingers crossed they can all actually stay healthy Adding Brogdon to that team is so massive. What a get.

Really doesn't seem to me like there's any way that is going to work Good luck to them. Wonder how long he'll be there.

Why Michael kicks Lebron's ass:
1. Michael averaged 30.1 points per game in an era where NBA was largely defensively oriented. They don't play defense in this league anymore. Van Gundy made a comment about how even in Europe they play better defense than the NBA nowadays. So it's a lot easier to score in this league nowadays and lots of merely good players are averaging 20 points per game.
Even when Jordan faced some all-time defensive monsters like Charles Oakley, Dikembe Mutombo, Gary Payton, Hakeem Olajuwon, Dennis Rodman, Joe Dumars, Bill Lambeer, Rick Mahorn - and that juggernaut Pistons defensive front....... still nobody could stop him. Lebron averaging 27.2 points per game in an offensive era just doesn't feel as impressive. There's nobody playing defense at the level of those guys from the 80s and 90s anymore.
2. When Jordan didn't play in those 2 years, (he was back for the playoffs in 1995 but missed nearly the entire year), the Bulls went back down to not winning championships again - and when he came back, they're instantly wiping everyone away again.
3. Jordan was never upset in the playoffs. When the Pistons beat him, they had the better team each time. Every time Jordan had the better team, he came away victorious. Lebron was upset by the 2011 Mavs. In 2014, I remember Heat fans beating their chest saying they were gonna roll the Spurs.... and then Gregg Popovich and his guys embarrassed him to the point where he left.
4. Lebron's constant hopping from team to team is so indicative of his era. This easy flow of free agency is a detriment to the game where in the 80s and 90s - it's much harder when you have to build and sustain a team.
5. His 10 consecutive Eastern Conference Championships don't feel so impressive when it was such a weak conference for a decade, and he always gets swallowed up by the West (the Spurs, the Warriors) in the end anyways so who cares that he has 10 consecutive Eastern championships.
6. His takedown of the 73 win Warriors team that year was the highlight of his career, but when he's 1-3 against them all-time - that one win seems belittled.
In short, I can't see this all-time scoring record as accurate anymore. Kareem and Jordan were better players than Lebron. There are lots of others too so in the overall spectrum of things, you can kinda say he has the record because he's played so much longer.

I did think it was HILARIOUS how they just stopped the fucking game with 10 seconds to go in the quarter to launch into a full-blown ceremony but the game was pretty epic up till then, atmosphere-wise. Glad the Thunder won after that though.

I get the argument that Lebron is the GOAT ....... and congratulations to him but I'll just say it's all good and leave this here from today and say that by the time #5 is done, he's going to top all these dudes except me at recess actually Sports records are going to fall like crazy in the next 2 years btw - Djokovic........Ovechkin and NHL goals.........etc. Chris @ga_Sports_Fan Top 5 Greatest Athletes Of All Time 5) Novak Djokovic 4) Tom Brady 3) Michael Jordan 2) Muhammad Ali 1) Me At Recess

lebron deserves all of his roses for last night. rarely do we see an athlete with that level of hype come into a league and not just match it, but exceed it. i think this record stands for a veeeeery long time, way longer than kareems 35+ years with it. Even with the blow up in offense and scoring in the league (7 players this year (lebron included) are scoring 30+ PPG which is just insane), this record just seems unbeatable especially with lebron adding to it for another 3+ years. it will be easily over 40k points if he can stay healthy which until this point, there's no reason to believe otherwise. With the longevity of lebron and him not having any serious injuries that have made him miss a whole season/be setback in terms of scoring, it'll be so fucking difficult. especially now with players resting more for injury management and talks about potentially lowering the games in a season. there will inevitably be a freak athlete that comes along with giannis type athleticism/build combined with curry like shooting, but again, the longevity of lebron will be hard to beat.

nunn, westbrook (who imo could never be a 3rd option on a championship winning team), and a protected first round pick for russell (not a big fan of him either) and more importantly hachimura, vanderbilt, AND beasley??
this lakers team is actually looking pretty nice now
