Sound Effects Editing swap Bohemian Rhapsody for First Man (one of the few Oscar wins that killed a category).

take away Spacey's win for American Beauty and give it to Richard Farsnworth. Yes, let's do this. But not just because it would've been nice - because he was by far the best of that already stellar lineup.

As much as I like that he has an Oscar, I'd definitely switch in Carol Reed's win for Oliver!, for Kubrick's 2001.

I would say Kevin Costner's and give it to Scorsese, but at the moment, I'm rolling with whoever beats Kristen Stewart this year.

James Cameron should give his director award for Titanic to Curtis Hanson.

Based on the quality of what lost- Oliver/Reed for either 2001 or Kubrick in 68.
Based on the quality of what won- John Mills winning an acting Oscar for that Simple Jack crap he was doing in Ryan's Daughter is embarrassing. A number of decent choices you could give it to instead (Hackman in I Never Sang For My Father, Ray Miland in Love Story, Karl Malden in Patton, Max Von Sydow in Kremlin Letter)

I know this is an acting/directing thread but just saying Gustavo Santaolalla winning for Babel is one of those wins that is emblematic of all the problems with my favorite category and Thomas Newman deserves an Oscar by now so I’d give it to him for The Good German, fuck it.
Hardly the biggest Oscar fix in the world, there are better legacy injustices in this thread, but that’s just a pet peeve that came to mind.
