A lot of the MAR thread - "The Nicole Kidman Thread" is some people - ok, mostly pacinoyes - being mean (but also 100% accurate) about her amazing publicity people working so hard and how good they are at it too - and post Oscar nomination they are in overdrive (or she will have them beheaded of course.......... j /k) ..........my local news had a story about her "crying" when she found out she got the nod and her (gorgeous, wonderful) children making fun of her. That story is all over the internet and social media.........it's not just a vote for Ball, it made her cry and her kids gently made fun of her dammit! They make sure everything she says about everything gets heardChastain may be ridiculous but she is ridiculous in an old school politician - "I'll get up at 5:00 AM and go to the opening of a supermarket in Nowheresville and I'll go out and shake a million hands, kiss everyone's babies!" sort of way........ It's such a shame Gaga missed........literally one of those 3 may have been murdered...... I read that she was also introduced on The View as the star of one of the best-reviewed films of 2021 Technically that is true. The PGAs nominated it for Best Motion Picture. Rotten Tomatoes and Broadcast Film Critics Association gave it a positive score. You can't say that for most movies.

Technically that is not true. A movie with a Metascore of 60 cannot be called one of the best-reviewed films of the year.

It is one of those "unprovable half truths" you see in the media all the time - what does "one of" mean? Top 10? Well no, it wasn't an Oscar nominee - could you find 50 movies with higher review scores in 2021? Sure you could......75? More? I tell a story all the time that I saw Ed Norton called "one of America's best and most acclaimed actors" on a TV show interview - and I was like "Well how big is the fncking group anyway?" - Is he top 5 because that sure SOUNDED amazing!?! But it's not "exactly" true - I mean he's not DePac, Nicholson, Hanks, Hackman, Phoenix, DiCap, Bridges, I could go on and on...........where is Norton's Oscar / Emmy / Tony? Is he "one of the best and most acclaimed" sure - in a way, much more than most ..........but the statement suggests a smaller group at the very top that you can't justify him being listed in...........and that's the same thing with BtR........it's not top 10 ........I don't know where it is........it's not a lie...........but it isn't true either. It's misleading at any rate ...........that's "message board English language" stuff - designed to mislead, deflect, fudge.........

Technically that is not true. A movie with a Metascore of 60 cannot be called one of the best-reviewed films of the year. First off, do you really take Metacritic that seriously? They have weighed averages and only use a select group of film critics. Rotten Tomatoes uses a much larger pools, and breaks things down on whether or not, the film was recommended. "Best-reviewed" can mean a number of things. Best-reviewed by who? The Broadcast Film Critics Association, which is the largest film group circle (well over 100 members), nominated it for actress, supporting actor, and original screenplay. So yes, I agree it is one of the better reviewed movies of the year.

It’s at 6.6 on Rotten Tomatoes, even that’s not the score of a best-reviewed film of the year. The Power of The Dog is one of the best-reviewed, Licorice Pizza is one of the best-reviewed, Drive My Car is one of the best-reviewed, certainly not Being The Ricardos, unless being considered decent at best is enough to be one of the best-reviewed films of the year.

Dude, you're over thinking things here. Hollywood releases over 350 films a year. Most of them do not get positive recognition. Being the Ricardos broke through. It's really not hard to understand that "one of the best reviewed films" doesn't necessarily mean 80-100% score on RT.com.
