Guys, it’s been a long time coming, and I’ve missed this so much! After the shitstorm of COVID-19, I completely fell off of movie watching in 2020. To the degree that, honestly, I feel no real desire to go back and revisit the year (honestly, I don’t even have the desire to seek out Nomadland). But being in a better state of mind recently, I decided to catch up on what I missed in 2021. And boy did I catch up!
At the time of posting, I’ve managed to see 85 movies from 2021, but most of that catch-up took place this January. I can honestly say I’ve watched more new movies in one month than I have the last two years. But having finally seen all of those highlights, and feeling comfortable enough putting together a pool of contenders, it’s time to resurrect my annual awards after skipping a year. Even if my choices don’t go over well, I have fun making them, and I hope others find some fun surprises as well.
So folks, if you’ve been waiting, wait no further! Back again, I present to you 2021’s official MYeah Award nominations!
