I don't necessarily see The Queen and The Crown as "positive" representations... but certainly more three-dimensional than as presented in Spencer, but that really wasn't the point of Spencer...It wasn't really, but nonetheless the depiction is the depiction. The Queen herself in particular depicted as an ice queen I could see many voters taking exception with, particularly BAFTA voters.

And Prince William is the President of BAFTA. It's been noted that the British people really don't want more divisiveness against the Royal Family. And Spencer is a very polarizing film. It only made 4 categories with the BAFTA long list.
