Fareed Zakaria normally a level headed voice (that I would call) on the Left said he was somewhat surprised at Biden's slippage in the polls.......I was surprised to hear Zakaria say that actually and that it seemed completely predictable. So which is it - a natural swing back as you often see in US Politics or indicative of something bigger? Recent polls are showing that he would lose to Trump for Fncksake now by 6 points - which would have been incomprehensible at one time just a few months ago and may not even be true but that means "something" is going on right? How do you rate his first year - can he turn it around before mid-terms in 2022? Will he run again? Or is he basically a lame duck President in the next 11 months and his legacy will be that he was a placeholder who stopped Trump in 2020 but hurt the Democratic Party in many other ways going forward?

This is pretty much exactly what I expected from him, policy-wise and support-wise. The Trumptards will push for Trump ever harder with him out of office, and the less fervent sides of his base will get more revved up because a democrat in the comfy seat.
Add on top of that the La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo Facebook and Google doing a crap job of censoring and just making Trump's voters more upset, and the divide gets very divided.
As for Biden's first year... I mean, he's a democrat, doing normal democrat things. I don't see anything especially new here. Haven't paid too much attention, because I will go insane focusing on things that I can't control.

0.5/10
He's terrible, man. Most people realize this. The shift is slowly reverting back to Republican.
1) Inflation 2) Border 3) Crime
Those are the main issues to me. Besides crime, I have never seen this country at such a horrible state. Crime has certainly been worse in our history recently for sure, but I've never seen Border and Inflation look this bad. And in the case of border, it's not like it's been an increasing trend that's been headed the wrong way for a while now. It was horrible under Bush, somewhat non-improved but not disastrously on the increase under Obama, and really good under Trump. Why was Trump able to improve the border situation and Biden in just one year has us drastically going the wrong way again? That tells me the problem is him.
Gas is ridiculous now, literally 25% increase in one year. You can say "that's not his fault. It's the nature of the petroleum industry. And the nature of the element fossil gas" but 25% in one year tells me whatever he's doing is just not good for the economy in general and that contributes to the inflation of not only gas, but of lots of other products as well.
Sorry man, but he sucks. He may lose more seats than Trump did in midterm, and the Republican party is gonna win itself in 2024. In 2020, Biden should've absolutely destroyed Trump given that the Republicans lost a ton of seats in the midterm and the mail-in ballots gave the Democrats a huge huge advantage, yet Trump closed in on Biden by 1% in 5 states and the race took like 4 days to finally settle. That tells me Trump is a really strong candidate and is still the Republicans best chance to win even when he was the underdog. But it may not even matter in 2024, you might not need a strong candidate, a billy goat Republican candidate could win if the Democrats keep falling apart like they're doing now.
That's just my opinion. To each his own but I'm just going by what I'm seeing in our country right now.

They know what they’re doing, except Biden of course. He just reads what they prepare for him on the teleprompter then runs for the bathroom before the dementia medication makes him shit himself like at the Vatican

The inflassion is insane.3 years ago, a dinner in a relative expensive restorant for 2 100 dollars tips included. Supermarket 15 days for 4 200 dollars including innecesary things like cakes and bakery
Today buying in the supermarket the cheapest things to survive 15 days for 2 500 dollars!!!
In New York 10 dollars a Hot dog. I mean, I m from the most expensive contra in South América and I always found United States a very cheap. Country, what hell happened!!!
He is not only ruining his country, he will ruin all the World economy!!!

His level of involvement and drive has not been there. He has not inspired confidence like he did in the 2020 campaign (although anything would've looked better than four more years of Trump). Comes off feeling weak and not charismatic, although he was never really that to begin with. Multiple policy issues that can't be ignored and even though his hands are tied by opportunistic idiots like Manchin and Sinema, helplessness is a bad look too. Bottom line, with a democratic trifecta in power things don't feel much better than they did in 2020 and in some ways are worse. That's going to kill dems next year.

My expectations were extremely low but on policy matters he ended up better than expected. He ended up doing a couple of things I appreciated. Kind of a shame the prospects for the midterms look rather bleak.
He could well be better than Obama and Clinton, not like that's some grand accomplishment.

I heard Joe Biden is trying to stop the filibuster on mail-in ballots so Congress doesn't get to debate on the widespread usage of it in the next election. Dude is pathetic.... LOL He knows mail-in ballots are his lifeline. His ass would be on his couch in his Delaware basement were it not for Covid and the mail-in ballots.

Well what is the argument against mail-in ballots outside of voter suppression? Because the election fraud argument has been thoroughly disproven.

An absolutely staggering poll - this is sub-Trump level and troubling across key groups......I'm not even sure this is fair actually and isn't piling on / kicking him when he's down. This country is headed for a civil war if this poll is truly reflective of the country's POV because mid-terms are going to be a potential bloodbath WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden's approval rating dropped to 33% in a new Quinnipiac University poll, the lowest mark of any major public survey during his presidency, as he takes a beating over his handling of the economy and coronavirus.
The poll, conducted Jan. 7 though Jan. 10 and released Wednesday, found 33% of all 1,313 adults surveyed approve of Biden's job performance, while 53% disapprove. Ten percent did not offer an opinion.www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2022/01/12/bidens-approval-rating-new-low-covid-economy/9189510002/

My grade would be a 7/10 or in movie terms a "B".
Let me start off by saying, I am not a Democrat or a liberal. If I would describe myself politically, I would say "moderate Republican".
He's signed notable legislation like the American Rescue Plan, Juneteenth National Independence Day Act, and the bipartisan infrastructure bill.
While it was a bumpy road, Biden made the right call to get us out of Afghanistan.
Unlike his predecessor, Biden has actually taken Covid seriously. He made it easier for us to get vaccinated. He issued mask mandates for entering federal buildings, and required federal workers and contractors to get vaccinated. I wish he could do more, but the Supreme Court will probably not allow it.
Many of his faults are out of his control. It's not his fault that the Democrats only have 50 Senate seats and have bow down to the demands and wishes of Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema. It's not his fault that Republicans don't want to get vaccinated or wear masks, essentially prolonging the pandemic. In fact, most Republicans don't think he was legitimately elected president. But regardless of those things (or should I say excuses), you still need to step up to the plate and get your message out. So far, that hasn't happened. Poor messaging has essentially sunken a productive presidency. That's why it is 7/10. I like the policies, but communication issues has been a major problem.
