Really poor for The Matrix Resurrections. Mixed WOM, and HBO Max is killing it. At least Sing 2 did well, but that was not that surprising. Definitely not another Secret Life of Pets 2.

Numbers are as expected. No Way Home is quickly on its way to making a billion worldwide.

No Way Home is now the highest grossing Spider-Man movie unadjusted, meanwhile The Matrix Resurrections continues to flounder, unfortunately. Cursed HBO Max!

Doesn't help that general audiences really aren't liking Matrix 4. That B- Cinemascore and 65% RT verified audience score should speak for themselves.

No Way Home passes a billion worldwide. Should be the highest grossing film of this year by quite a good margin.

Will be interesting to see how Licorice Pizza holds up after Christmas .......I've said before that we were overrating this movie for Oscar "wins" because it is so "minor" and that it may be an East Coast-West Coast hipster thing (for lack of a better word, I liked i a lot) thing where middle America just shrugs......... but nothing that's "for adults" is doing well really so this slow roll-out may play in its favor.
$2,327,000 this weekend ..........total $3,665,819 in 786 theaters currently.......
Journal for Jordan didn't do great $2,200,000 Opening 2,500 theaters
There seems to be some confusion on how many theater JfJ is in - some articles say 1250 NOT 2500 but I think that was a misprint that was re-printed in other spots - maybe (?)

Pretty decent hold for West Side Story this weekend, only dropping 23.4% for a 2.8 million haul. I expect it will hang around in the top 10 for a while longer, as there's no real competition coming until Scream 5 in mid-January.

Nightmare Alley with a 56% drop over the Christmas weekend Hey I don't consider that, that funny, especially if you're concerned about the future of theatrically released "mature movies!"

Nightmare Alley with a 56% drop over the Christmas weekend That film is DOA but to be entirely fair, only West Side Story had a genuinely good hold this weekend. Every other film fell off hard thanks to Christmas Eve falling on Friday and others losing tons of theatres.
