Samuel L. Jackson got in for Unbreakable while Bruce Willis and Robin Wright Penn didn't? What gives? Jackson is fine and all, but he's nowhere near my lineup.
Films I am missing:
Billy Elliot The Cell Dancer in the Dark Hollow Man How the Grinch Stole Christmas Malena The Patriot Quills Scary Movie You Can Count on Me

I watched Snatch, so strike that off my watchlist. As a fan of the anime show Baccano! I had a good smile to discover that its opening is a tribute to the opening of this movie. And it is no wonder: the rest of the show cribbed from Ritchie's coincidence driven plot of stupid people doing stupid things, creating a chaotic whirlwind. This was like seeing a live action Baccano movie with fewer kids getting decapitated and fewer gangsters having their fingers cut off/bitten off/shot off/ground off/crushed, so I naturally had a blast. It's a wild ride of bad people being dumb and getting into ridiculous situations with logic thrown out the window, and it's a shame that I can only compare it to a TV show that took inspiration from the movie and have little else intelligent to offer. It's my jam. 8/10

And scratch off Requiem for a Dream. The word for this is operatic. It may be shallow, it may be simple, but WHOOOOOAAAA does it go full tilt. Nothing from this year really stands out as great, so this is arguably my favorite of the BP nominees just for the rush of it. 7/10

The House of Mirth is a movie custom made to bore me to tears. Boasting the ugliest cinematography of the year and the stuffiest script of unpleasant pieces of shit I've seen in a long time, I could never be arsed to give a crap. Get over yourself. There, I fixed your problems.

Voted (don't think I had done it yet).
Great nominees overall, except that Original Song lineup, which is the dictionary definition of 'meh'.

I just realized that James Newton Howard delivering what is possibly my favorite original score of the decade didn't even get nominated. Voted. Still a lot of movies I'm missing, because I've been lazy.
