I don't believe for a second he actually generated this list himself. Reeks of calculation and phoniness.

Fantastic list as always. If Ridley doesn't want to campaign for Last Duel maybe Obama could do it

Very good list this year. Most surprised at no King Richard. Love seeing Pig and Old Henry - they're quite similar.

He's more of an arthouse kind of guy. I haven't seen KR and don't plan to, because it sounds like mainstream Oscar bait. (Sports movies aren't my thing either.) Obama will go for some stuff with social relevance, but it doesn't sound like King Richard is anything like West Side Story in that regard - WSS is "about" racism and hatred, while KR isn't "about" anything like that, AFAIK.

All in Blue, prACTIcally all the films that were realese this year.
I guess is OK, after all is in retirement.
But Carter, now I understand why his presidency was a mess. he spends several hours on the week watching movies, now I want all his TV Shows and series, I'm want to know which soap opera he seen before brakefast.- Nixon another one, when he was not watching movies, he try to spy people and seen documents, but at least his film taste was much better.- Clinton seen much less, most of them about Reagan or about the celebrities that probably visited on the white house.-

I don't believe for a second he actually generated this list himself. Reeks of calculation and phoniness. A phony & calculated list would NOT include original, individual picks like "Pig", "The Card Counter" or "The Last Duel" and would definitely include the likes of "King Richard" and "Belfast." Blind cynicism is toxic, dude, and doesn't impress anyone. Anyone who's seen President Obama's lists throughout the years would definitely see a pattern in his personal tastes that run through all of them.

what a carefully curated taste he has Why do I suspect all the people saying the list is phony are just saying that cuz they dislike him personally/politically? Again, a "carefully curated" list would have more picks like King Richard & Belfast and less picks like Pig & The Card Counter.

Any 'Best of 2021' list that doesn't have Belfast is a good list in my book!

You can include a couple left field picks that make it even phonier, dude. It's a deliberate tactic. Not including Belfast doesn't mean this is real, it means that Belfast is not really accepted as that good by the critics. He's pretty much going with all of the most critically acclaimed art films of the year, same as he always does. One can predict his choices almost down to the exact films every year.

As always, you're so 100% dead wrong it's like you're doing it on purpose. If what you said about "acclaimed art films" was true, he'd have included Licorice Pizza (HE SHOULD HAVE!) and Spencer as well.

I'm having a hard time understanding why people are so pressed about a wait for it... a freakin top ten movie list. Now had this been Trump's list then I could see the outrage... no way he would sit through any of this.

Why would he include Licorice Pizza when that film is potentially tainted with the age difference/racial joke controversies? Again, he's predictable and disingenuous.
