Wow, unless it's a joke it's a most unexpected and cool climax! I was sure this was between LOTR and Mulholland.

So on the whole: Supporting actor: Ehhhhh... whatever, fine. Visual effects: Yeah, this was the right choice. I think it's the only time I agreed with the winner, so I guess it's a good thing we got this out of the way early. Sound mixing: BHD was robbed, but this is a fine choice Sound editing: I guess it's... fine. Cinematography: But why? Choreography: NO. NO NO NO NO NO. NOOOOOOOOOOOO. Does anyone remember that scene with Aragorn fighting a bad guy and the bad guy stabs with his shield for no reason and pins Aragorn to a tree but Aragorn DUCKS OUT OF THE HOLE IN BETWEEN THE TWO POINTS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SHIELD and kills the bad guy? God, this is the worst choreography imaginable, guys. Ensemble: Yuck Makeup: I think that the orc makeup is pretty mediocre, but eh, this is okay for the most part. I may have even voted for it. Costume design: Not my choice, but an excellent winner Supporting actress: *sigh* Film editing: I mean... it could be worse. It could be a lot better, but it could be worse. Score: I can't argue. This is the #3 here, but it's still really terrific stuff. Song: Not bad, but Itsumo Nando Demo is better. Original screenplay: Eeeeegh... Adapted screenplay: Eeeeegggghhhhh........ Directing: Eeeeeeeuuuuuurrrgghhhh.... Actor: Well, that's a snooze Actress: She's not even the best actress in this movie! Picture: HEEEEEEY! Awesome! I'll take it, even if it is one of Miyazaki's lesser efforts! Production design:

Have people only watched The Lord of the Rings of all movies this year?

Sorry for (intentionally) being a bitch about the results this year. I did enjoy the LotR dominance despite disliking the movie (the techs are excellent outside of choreography and cinematography). And Spirited Away sneaking away with the victory was a nice cap on the proceedings. Thanks, Pendragon!

I'm happy that Lynch and Watts won, but Mulholland Dr. should have taken Best Picture. Thanks for doing this, pendragon!
