I pray he will govern as a moderate, pro-business Republican (i.e. Charlie Baker, Larry Hogan, Phil Scott) and not delve into the culture wars... His campaign offers me little hope of that, though. I'm expecting transgender bans in bathrooms and school sports and restrictions on abortion. Maybe he will prove me wrong.

For shame. Everyone knows that the rule is "vote early, vote often." Trying to do it on election day is just begging to get caught. Idiot.

McAuliffe has no one to blame but himself. He also had so many very powerful Democrat heavy hitters campaigning for him (Obama, Biden, VP Harris etc etc) He had such a simple job to do. Just act somewhat likable/relatable and not a complete asshole but he couldn't even do that. He went out of his way and acted like a complete out of touch, dismissive, overly defensive (walking out of interview and too pussy to handle any tough questions), constant smug attitude , unlikable POS and because of that he lost to a Gomer Pyle fleece wearing goofball :laugh:and now he's still acting like a sore loser (ironically very similar to how butthurt Trump acted when he lost the 2020 election). Its not all bad for Terry McAuliffe though, the Biden administration is wanting to add him to their team so he'll have a cushy job in D.C with little to no responsible/accountability. Outstanding news for the United States! And you have far left lunatics like Howard Dean, Jemele Hill & a lot of the talking heads in the mainstream media crying "racism" whenever a voter doesn't vote for a far left liberal Democrat. Look at who these blood thirsty racist Virginia voters voted for to be the new Lieutenant Governor. Meet Winsome Sears (a black woman that is an immigrant from Jamaica, served in the US Marine Corp and views America in a positive light)

He also had so many very powerful Democrat heavy hitters campaigning for him (Obama, Biden, VP Harris etc etc) This may have actually worked to his detriment, particularly the latter two And yea McAuliffe had one job. Just don’t tell parents that you can’t have a say in what your kids learn in school or take the side of the ppl defending a dude in a skirt raping girls in the school bathrooms then covering it up because it doesn’t fit their political agenda and calling the father of one of the victims a domestic terrorist for having the audacity to voice his displeasure about the whole thing at a school board meeting. He had this in the bag until he shot himself in the foot with all the school related stuff

I wanted to get everyone's take on this video... pacinoyes ^ Yes, well that's a verrrrrrrrrrrrrrry pacinoyes-y type commentary .......one of the things I always talk about is who "owns" the language - and I have often said the "Left" have been gross manipulators of language in the last few years - though that's a historically "Republican or Right" tactic that they just recently appropriated...........it's a pet issue of mine - even in my posts on movies I try to always use the EXACT correct words that you can't manipulate against me. ...... ......... at this moment - for the first time in a while - the "Right" is somewhat cynically recapturing that war on cultural language - which is a voting problem for Democrats at the very least in 2022 ...............and maybe culturally a bigger problem even. I think the Democratic Party would be better served by watching how Mayor Pete uses language - he never loses his cool, never seems like a provocateur is able to distill nuanced positions down to short digestible sound clips without appearing threatening to common sense. I think at a National level the problem is really how the Right - at this moment - is being so brazenly aggressive about language - the words racist, woke, Critical Race Theory or even code language ("Let's Go Brandon") - are all mocked terms now and it happened rather quickly too - it's a bad sign when you see how that spreads and the Democrats unless they somehow redefine those terms or define new terms are in a bad spot for mid-terms unless they straighten the ship I always wanted to write a book about the history of US politics through cultural language but that book would be like a million pages long............I mean............have you ever read my posts on MAR?

Bill Maher for President in 2024. Seriously though, why not? Sure he has no experience as a politician but he's 100x more knowledgeable about politics than Trump's clueless ass. Maher is usually always spot on and he's 100% right with his recent video. I loved his underrated documentary Religulous (directed by Larry Charles) where Maher just clowned on every single religion out there. It was really funny too. Honestly, the only thing I've ever strongly disagreed with Maher was when he hoped for a recession in 2018 so Trump wouldn't be re elected. Well, he definitely got his wish (and then some ) COVID didn't just cripple the US economy, it destroyed the entire world's economy and killed countless amounts of innocent people too. Other than that I love Maher's commentary on everything and he's right that the Democrat Party needs to act more normal and sane. This whole woke bs is not working for them and I hope they wake up (no pun intended) asap because all signs point to them getting fisted with no lube in 2022.

Maher is grifting the right. The man’s just looking for a bigger audience by taking advantage of the fact that his fellow comic talk show hosts have gone completely off the deep end. It’s why Gutfeld has the highest ratings off all late night talk shows, he’s simply just not the other guys and basically has that market to himself. Amazing how some liberals are starting to do what conservatives have been doing for a long time. You always see some conservatives trying to appeal to liberals by coming off as the “rational conservative” or “acceptable conservative”, now you got Maher trying to be the “sane liberal”. Maher was very wrong of course for calling for a recession to take out trump. You don’t wish for recession ever, and he should know that the people worse affected by recession, most likely to suffer and maybe die, are the poorest. The wokeism he’s been lashing out against has also very much been a byproduct of this recession. Sure it’s been there for a really long time but it really started exploding last year when everyone was locked down and people had nothing better to do than spread their dumbass beliefs on the internet and social media. The man is reaping what he sowed. A lot of what he’s said recently has been right but I can see right through him

Gotta think that part of it is also Youngkin knows it’s only a 1 term job so he figures he can afford to really piss off dems and build himself a national profile. Republicans outside of Virginia are hearing about what he’s doing and loving it just as much as you hate it, especially that new AG you got

well abortion always ranks 8-10 on people's lists of important issues anyways. No one will give a fuck until you take it away from the daughters of white soccer moms. Maybe the Supreme Court gutting Roe will change that but I kind of doubt it. My pessimism is at an all-time high.

I can. It was a gut reaction to covid restrictions and the removal of confederate statues in the state. The GOP ran on opposing covid restriction rules and effectively played the cultural war card on race. Education became the #1 issue because it impacted their children's education and their ability to work. The Democrats in Virginia failed to solve that issue or at least explain it properly, and it cost them dearly.

Most voters are not thinking about abortion when voting or having a president appoint 1-3 new justices, they are thinking about issues right in front of their face. I call it the big yellow sign. Rising inflation and education are in their faces every day. If a political party steps up to the plate and claims they have the magic pill to address those issues, the public is going to go toward them.
My projections here are pretty grim for the Democrats. They are going to lose control of the House and Senate in November, based on the concept that the GOP has successfully controlled narratives.

Oh they are going to get slaughtered in November (not saying I want that - I really don't - but it's better to live in "reality" they tell me ) and at that point you have a lame duck President and our national horror show just begins....... Side note : "The People's Governor (um) of Georgia", showing she learned nothing by Youngkin's election ........and this is why the Republicans do control the narrative ^ ......... she didn't "really" do anything wrong - (like refusing to concede an election she lost by 50,000 votes, ammirite?) - I'm sure she had it on prior - but Republicans pounce on this stuff and when they do the "same" thing, it isn't really the same - they are just like "Fnck the masks anyway" It's diabolical ........
