This is ....not good at all. I live in Arizona and watch the morning local news when I wake up and this is a flat out CRISIS and I have a bad feeling it is only going to get worse as the months go on. There are horror stories of these cartel / human smugglers just dumping these illegals into southern parts of Arizona and Texas. Then there are also instances where large groups (sometimes over 100) make the hike to get into the US (a lot of them also bringing their young children along for the dangerous journey which imo is flat out child endangerment but that's for another post) Biden/Harris are doing jack shit about what is going on at the Southern border. It is a total cluster fuck. We need to have order at the border (sorry didn't mean to make that rhyme) We need to know who is entering this country for safety purposes and for national security reasons. Also in case some of you forgot we are in a pandemic still which only makes these matters worse. By all accounts , the Border Patrol agents have been completely overwhelmed and are undermanned . The cartels & human smugglers are having no problem coming & going with ease. www.texastribune.org/2021/07/16/us-mexico-border-apprehensions-how-many/nypost.com/2021/07/22/buses-leaving-texas-border-town-packed-with-illegal-migrants/Also, I do not think VP Harris is up to the task and isn't taking it seriously at all. Look at this recent interview she did with Lester Holt . Notice her smug /dismissive attitude towards him when he pushed back just a little bit with a comment that she has not visited the southern border. She then became so defense, chuckled about it (yeah cause it's soooo funny! ) and then stated she didn't know what point he was making. JFC are you kidding me?! www.forbes.com/sites/markjoyella/2021/06/08/kamala-harris-tells-nbcs-lester-holt-weve-been-to-the-border-he-responds-you-havent/?sh=38cd80f07cc6I'll add more thoughts on this shit later. Would like to hear your thoughts on the Southern border crisis that is going on right now.

Yeah, I started a thread once that was something like "How Do You Feel About Biden's First 100 Days" .......iirc only urbanpatrician brought this up (pretty sharp guy - likes Laurence Olivier ) ......I was pretty baffled tbh It's not just that they've underperformed on this.......it's rather I STILL don't know what the plan even is - when you do this below - you have to convince people you have your own plan .....it can't be "undo everything Trump did" like it shouldn't have been "undo everything Obama did" ..........need a clear dictated policy or you're giving back Arizona to the Republicans and keeping Texas there too..... It is an issue that ties into so many others - Covid, the economy, patriotism - the way you see your country, quality of life/living standards etc. A new report by Republicans on a Senate subcommittee has concluded that the Biden administration is spending a minimum of approximately $2 billion to suspend construction of the wall at the southern border, even amid a continuing migrant crisis.www.foxnews.com/politics/senate-gop-report-biden-administration-2b-suspend-wall-construction

Biden administration will be a disaster and its just getting started. Crime is also increasing in big cities in the aftermaths of all this widespread croc tears sobbing all over that George Floyd guy.
Biden will get destroyed in 2024 and the midterms will be the clear sign of that. Even if Trump doesn't run again, I feel like the Republican candidates are too strong and also the possibility of Biden not running again leaving them with Kamala Harris....who could be a stronger candidate later but I think the GOP will definitely take their chances on her.

I guess people choice their goverment (President, Governor, Mayors), and are responsable for their vote, or for not voting at all.-

I said this before.......since we left Afghanistan (wrongly imo, or at least very badly) - this administration has undergone a Book of Job run of bad luck (that's a Bible reference for you atheists / agnostics who like to talk about religion incorrectly ) Bad turns on inflation, stock market, gas, foreign policy, Russia War, some Covid missteps, several SCOTUS bitch-slaps, blocked legislation etc. and now ..........this............ yikes. Thoughts on this? Don't we have some MAR posters from Texas? At least 46 people have been found dead in an abandoned truck on the outskirts of San Antonio, Texas.
A fire official said 16 people, including four children, had also been taken to hospital.
The survivors were "hot to the touch" and suffering from heat stroke and heat exhaustion.www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-61961871

My stance on immigration has something to upset everyone. Liberals will call me a bigot and anti-immigrant for saying we should deport illegals while conservatives (not that there’s any on here) will call me a lib for saying that the fix for illegal immigration is to actually make legal immigration easier. I’ve always thought Trump’s wall was an incredibly stupid idea. It’s such an outdated form of border security and has been outdated since the Ottomans used their cannons to bring down the walls of Constantinople. *sheds tear* Today people can just swim around the wall into the sanctuary state of California or fly over the wall (not to mention most illegals are visa overstays anyway). Trump’s wall is more of a symbolic thing than something that has any actual utility. I think the right way to go is to just have an Ellis Island style checkpoint at the southern border. Basic screening. Are you healthy? Have you ever been convicted of a felony? Are you ready to contribute to the economy within a reasonable amount of time? If the answers are yes, no and yes then let them in. Citizenship after a few years if they can pass the citizenship test. And yes, all illegal immigrants should be deported for illegal entry but if entering illegally is the only crime they committed during their time in the country they can be given the opportunity to come back legally like everyone else

Most illegals come here via overstaying their visa. I've know both types: overstays and people who walked to Cali as kids. The people who come here legally hate with a passion illegal immigrates, at least this is based on conversations that I've had with people. Not sure how you can just round up illegals especially in Cali and deport them. I don't think we even have the manpower to do that. Seriously. As for making it easier, well, how much easier can it get. What you detailed is that similar to how it is done now?

There’s a cap on how many fresh immigrants we’ll let into the country each year (as in adults who don’t already have family/close relatives in the country) at about 675K. I’m ok with removing the cap

illegal immigrants who are not captured by law enforcement in any regard & work under the table for their entire life are not a realistic issue to me; if someone can go decades without so much as a broken taillight violation it's not someone who concerns me on a safety level - "rounding up the illegals" (the ones with no run-ins with the law) would be such a brutally costly endeavor that any economic upside it could have would be immediately reversed tenfold by the overspending on US law enforcement, and people who both are and aren't illegal immigrants would have countless civil liberties violated as a result of such an act.

The most effective “fix” to this “problem” is to be anti-imperialist and stop meddling in South American countries and destroying their home countries to serve US corporate interests
If you aren’t anti-imperialist, you have no right NONE to whine about illegal immigrants. Most migrate to the US because of the crimes against humanity the US commits on their home countries

If a foreign country commits crimes in my home one, I surely won't be eager to move there. The last military US action in Central America in Panama in 1989. And Panamenians blessed that.- George Bush is almost a hero there.-

If a foreign country commits crimes in my home one, I surely won't be eager to move there. ok but geography also matters, duh. Life in the US is relatively less hellish than Honduras for example, so they’re gonna migrate to the US. They don’t have money to fly out somewhere else and apply for immigration which is costly.
