Loving those 2 Italian girls. So I'm guessing Tanya's shitty husband doesn't have a terminal illness after all,is probably already married and playing a long con to get her money.

I relate so much to Aubrey Plaza's character... Like, we are the exact same. Except I would never turn down Prosecco.

He didn't had a terminal illness, just was sick in the first season (probably just a red herring to make us suspect he was the dead guy) but not now. I relate so much to Aubrey Plaza's character... Like, we are the exact same. Except I would never turn down Prosecco. I think she's insufferable, as bad as Connie Britton's character in s01.

Yeah, I like the girls too. That one could have played Al Pacino's daughter. Haha. I don't think he's married but has a SO, however, I do believe that he only wanted her to go to the trip for optics so that he can leave and ditch her because she hates being alone. He is trying to use his business as a way to get her to do post-nuptial agreement.

Tell me about it. Mike White knows how to cast a show. Haha.

I'm caught up to the episode with that excuse me ending but I didn't get a chance to watch yesterday's episode yet. I prefer to do a back-to-back next Sunday. Do you guys have any clue as to who died? I'm guessing ... Greg. I bet he comes back before end of show. And his death would solve a lot of problems for Tanya.

Ep6 was a terrific ep..... so much oscillating intention with every relationship: manipulative moves (self sabotage too), transactional, potentially dangerous etc. The last shot, rooms within rooms, is dynamite and pretty much visuals the theme of sided sexuality and concave of wealth.

I'm thinking Albie might kill Lucia's pimp.

You know... As someone who has not been able to stand Jennifer Coolidge for over 20 years now... After that episode she better take that Globe/SAG/Emmy triple crown

Will Sharpe has the most perfect American accent I have ever heard by a non-American, by the way - I would never in a million years have guessed he's English.

I've seen his British shows and I still forgot he wasn't American but then again I'm easy to fool - I don't think I've ever heard a bad American accent on screen before, seriously~! The only recent example maybe... is Kidman and the actor who plays her kid in The Undoing were clearly pronouncing some words weirdly/as Non New Yorkers but it didn't bother me at all. Idk if Lotus fans realize off his serious character here but Will Sharpe has a pretty great comedic ability too.... I'd imagine if he wanted to he could nab some huge Hollywood roles.... His partner Sophia Di Martino costars in Loki....

Coolidge owned and had quite a bit more to do than S1! I loved Lucia/Mia (and that ending for them).... Aubrey Plaza always delivers....but I may go Meghann Fahy who was phenomenal, I love how she played pauses and hinted at depths. She comes from soap operas??

I'm really not sure about an MVP, as each and every player is totally game. I agree with everything you've written.

Mattsby - Didn't you love the scene at the end with all three generations of the Di Grasso men gawking at the Italian woman?

The show gets a lot of mileage out of looks - looking at and away (and I guess looks-looks too, ha). F Murray had some nice moments, and I'm glad he got his Golden globe nom today (which was a surprise; his first since Amadeus) even if his perf wasn't really a standout.

That was a masterful hour of television and a phenomenal season overall. I feel like the show dropped the single worst aspect of season 1 (the soul-searching.... things like Paula and her Hawaiian boyfriend.... awful characters) and shamelessly followed its marvelous instincts instead. I'm reminded of The Comeback, another A+ HBO comedy, which was even more unafraid of trash and messing up than this is. I guess what I'm trying to say is, what a breath of fresh air to have such decadent, uncivilized comedy! - a "boudoir farce with teeth" like White says - it's a terrifically scripted show but almost all the best bits are nonverbal little oddities. It's hilarious, but it doesn't feel designed for laughs. Not to mention the genius of its casting - Sabrina Impacciatore and her instantly legendary lesbian... Aubrey Plaza's mounting disgust... Meghann Fahy's sinister little charm that keeps eluding you... to the memorable use of established faces like F. Murray Abraham's nonno outcast. Coolidge is of course the heart of it all - an American heroine who defies all classification - she kept her innocence till the (amazing) end... and fucked up ruinous Sicily before going down herself... give her all the Emmys and the Oscars... this is what a great comic perf looks like. Arrivederci Tanya!

The blogs are saying that the Season 3 location will be Japan, and Coolidge WILL be returning.
