ATJ has won every precursor that Winslet wasn't eligible for - Globe, Critics Choice, SAG, etc. but is Winslet sweeping in to take her (presumed) Emmy at the end or does ATJ hold her off? It's very difficult to be a Best Actress Oscar winner with 2 Lead Emmy wins in Limited Series / Movie work too - in this era especially - few people have that in the modern era (males is even more rare) - no one in Winslet's generation - she's 45 - has done it (I think).........newcomer vs. veteran, Netflix vs. HBO......... I know we're waiting on nominations but this is the race - right? With apologies to Michaela Coel - who could play spoiler I guess......but..........doubt it. Poll stays up until Sep 18th, the day before the Emmy's Who did you prefer?

I'm still thinking Anya has the edge. She is the rising star with a massive breakthrough performance and she's won hardware already for it. Winslet's gonna have late-season momentum on her side, but I think they're going to still fall to anoint Taylor-Joy.
In terms of who I think was better, though, I'd say Winslet.
EDIT: Also, Coel is absolutely a spoiler here and I think she's probably second to ATJ right now.

As far as who will win I'd give Anya the edge right now partly because of that it is a breakthrough performance and partly because The Queen's Gambit was such a big success as a show. In terms of who actually is best between the two, Kate Winslet is in a different league alltogether - one of the all time greats doing her best ever work.

Yeah, I definitely think Coel is a distant 3rd. This is Winslet vs. ATJ all the way.

Gosh, I hope Winslet edges out. Her best performance.

Oh honeys, does anyone else think that Anya Taylor-Joy looks like Zoë Lund (Tamerlis)?

Really hope it's Winslet and people have such short memories that she could absolutely snag it. Coel is just too long ago.

This Emmy race looks like it is between Micheala Coel and Anya Taylor-Joy. Cole just won the Television Critics Association award for Individual Achievement In Drama, beating out both Taylor-Joy and Winslet. Winslet is probably in third, and has won no precursors, unlike Cole and Taylor-Joy. This category is always pretty brutal. In a less stacked category, I'd think Elizabeth Olsen would be a frontrunner for WandaVision, not arguably be in 4th place.

The TCA means jack shit, there's like no overlap there with Emmy voters. It's still ATJ v Winslet, and Coel MIGHT get a consolation prize in Writing.

Anyway, as I said...Coel vs Taylor-Joy.

I think Winslet (changing my vote after seeing the show) wins but The Queen's Gambit wins for limited series. Coel probably wins for writing.

I'm thinking Winslet with HBO money-momentum - I wouldn't trust TV precursors especially nowadays - the TV Academy is wacky in 2021 (ask master thespian Ethan Hawke! um) ......Coel "could win" but predicting her to me is sort of like what people accuse many of on this board of doing with the Oscars handicapping - ie voting their heart........ instead of the visible large block passion ........
Coel could win in a razor tight race .....it's not "impossible" at all.........just not likely imo if I'm gonna wager cash on it or something.....there's bigger things in play than precursors here tbh.....

I was mad confused. I saw Coel win something and reaction shots of Winslet and Anya in the crowd standing and clapping and assumed they lost. Then now I see Winslet won something? Wild.

I don't know what this exact number is but in the modern "Prestige-era" era it is not easy to pull off specifically because its hard to "steal" a 2nd Emmy in this category (for men too)- not even actresses who do both a lot and get a lot of acclaim get that 2nd Emmy here....... Kidman etc.......... Streep has done it.......Hunter.........Lange.........Mirren....
