Naomi Watts and Bobby Cannavale will be stalked by The Watcher in Netflix’s forthcoming limited series from executive producers Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan (Ratched, The Politician), our sister site Deadline reports.
The pair will star as a married couple whose move into their dream home is threatened by terrifying letters from a stalker who calls himself “The Watcher”. The series is inspired by the real-life “Watcher” house in New Jersey, which was put back on the market after the new homeowners received chilling letters from “The Watcher,” who claimed to have been “watching” the house for decades. When the house failed to sell, the family rented it out, and the renters also got a threatening letter.

I've been burned by Murphy so many times but he knows how to hook you (and then spin the wheels) and this sounds really promising.
Expecting him to either adopt another old actress or use one of his darling as sexually charged diva neighbor of a certain age who may or may not be responsible for the letters.

In all seriousness, if it weren't for the producers attached, I actually would've felt optimistic about this kind of vehicle for Naomi. She delivered in the similarly-premised Funny Games.

"Honey, I'm home!" Well, this was addictingly fun. Zillow chiller--a ziller! I think it throws itself around well, a creepy comedy around the very-eyed and centrifugal home. Here and there hilariously heightened, like Ep3. Feels a little stretched-on by Ep7 but I somewhat dug the ending. Several ridiculous but forgivable plot holes. Did I spy a split diopter! Surprised at the occasional sequential skill of narrative planes. Supporting cast excellent.... a candid Coolidge ("pending review!"), a transfixing Noma Dumezweni, and Mia Farrow-- Rosemary is back, baby! What a casserole for her ("Nixon chicken!"), inspired casting putting her in the Ruth Gordon-Minnie Castevet position of the chippy nutjob neighbor, all pigtailed, immature meddlesomeness.... she's sort of amazing here, gosh.

The true story behind this miniseries is kind of fascinating to me... This video provides a panoramic look at the case (if you can stomach the presenters ):

Oh honey, started this last night and loving it!
Ryan Murphy certainly knows how to reel you in. Genius casting of Mia Farrow as the batshit crazy neighbor looking like something out of Grant Wood's American Gothic... Jennifer Coolidge is always good for the money, Bobby Cannavale, Nay (thank god it wasn't Kidman with her wigs & whispering), Margo Martindale... Noma Dumezweni (PI Theo)'s backstory made me laugh. So many good ones.
Trying not to read around it until I've seen it all.
This and White Lotus 2 are going to make me very happy.

I finished the show this evening... While I certainly agree that it's fun, addicting, and well-acted, that ending was such a copout - Obviously, I can't say the show is a total waste of time, but wow... What a letdown.

Watched the first couple of episodes last night.Hmmm.I normally love a trashy Netflix mini series, but other than the house porn, this isn't doing it for me.

So, about the actual case the miniseries is based on... We all agree the homeowners sent the letters to themselves, right?
