They remind me of one another. Both great character actresses who disappear into their respective roles.

I like both, but I feel like Coon has more range and is theoretically closer to an American Riseborough.

Steppenwolf's Coon... mainly bc of her perf in The Sinner S2.
Nicholson is a pretty good actress, I'd like to see her in less glum roles tho. Props for Monos, most actresses would've turned that down.

Nicholson's best was The Outsider but she was also one of the better things about August Osage County. Coon's at a disadvantage because I haven't seen that much of her stuff. I'd love to see a lot more of both (recs welcome!) but for now I choose Julianne.

Very good actresses. I prefer Coon.

Great comparison. They've always reminded me of each other too. I personally prefer Nicholson, but there's not too much in it. They're both very good. I've always been on the Nicholson train, and while it took me a while to get on board with Coon, I'm there now.

Nicholson has yet to give a performance as good as what Coon did in The Leftovers, but she also hasn't really been given the opportunity to play a part like that. I think she has the goods, though, and could absolutely blow us all away like Carrie did as Nora.
