For all the people who had The Conformist and Taxi Driver in their ballots, seek out Love and Anarchy for a sensational triple feature. oh my god YES. You tell 'em

Completely deserved Top 20 placement for Picnic at Hanging Rock. The word "haunting" doesn't even begin to describe it.

Best film led by De Niro and probably his best performance.

I really like The Deer Hunter, but the best part of it is the first one, when they haven't gone to Vietnam yet. That was the best about it.
Cries and Whispers is incredibly depressing but it's one of Ingmar's most powerful works.

Best film led by De Niro and probably his best performance. Co-signed, although I'd drop the "probably." That is his best work.

Didn't make my ballot, but GREAT film. Not better than LAST TANGO, though.

Alien is the one movie I most feel bad about not putting in my ballot (so I guess it's my #26?). Sorry Ridley!

Alien is just outside of my ballot. Barry Lyndon is also very strong and nearly Kubrick's best (behind The Killing).

YES!! On my ballot, my all-time Top 100, and my favorite Bergman of the decade. Obviously a devastatingly powerful drama, but I don't think it's ever recognized as one of the all-time masterpieces of GOTHIC HORROR, which is what it is at its core.

I should ask Ibbi for the review I did for this back during the BP review days. Ah, the nostalgia of the BP review series. (That series is how I wound up on this board, unfortunately for the lot of you.) Terrific film, is the short version.

I feel similarly. Not very taken with it, and I consider myself...Altman’s biggest fan? Nash would be my 8th fav of his 70s films No, I'M Altman's biggest fan!! And on this board you're probably third behind me & Archie. 🤷 Okay, Kobe! But have you seen his Krafts, Combats, and Hitch Presents eps? How many times have you read Altman On Altman? How many film print screenings of his have your eyes seen??! But rele --I will never fight an Altmanite. As the man said, Giggle and give in.

Speaking of Gothic Horror, lol, say hello to my #1 favorite horror film of all-time!! Definitely on my ballot, and in my all-time Top 100.

I saw the picture there and did a double take, thinking that was Russell Crowe.
