So Happy Eraserhead finished so high. I had it at #4, so it's obviously a favourite of mine. Should have been top ten, though

I honestly thought Msnhattan and Star Wars would be higher.

Star Wars has it all: snappy character writing and well defined arcs, SPECTACULAR action scenes, amazing pacing (especially the slow movement on Tattooine). Amazing stuff.

Manhattan over Annie Hall is surprising to me.
Glad Star Wars isn't higher.

damn I think a lot of these didn't even make my ballot. Harold & Maude, The Tenant, Carrie, Walkabout, The Sting, Autumn Sonata, Manhattan, Days of Heaven--all wonderful films that I didn't vote for. 25 just wasn't enough to cover how tremendous this decade was

Again, that Highest Placement was on MY ballot. It's also #13 on my all-time Top 20. Little surprised it ranked ahead of ANNIE HALL, but I won't complain. The more Woody movies make the list the better!!

The Exorcist was fine. Good acting, effectively scary... but pretty forgettable, in the long run. It isn't my kind of horror, though.

Suprised that no Fassbinder&Wenders have appeared so far. Both had an outstanding decade.

I really wanted to find a place in my ballot for it, but I couldn't. I still love it to bits though.

Suprised that no Fassbinder&Wenders have appeared so far. Both had an outstanding decade. I don't think either are popular enough, and their popularity is split between multiple movies. It is easier for someone like Has to get in when he has one film that is typically placed above the rest. But Wenders and Fassbinder have multiple that could be people's "favorite" from the director.

Every time I watch The Spirit of the Beehive, I'm afraid to speak at anything above a whisper for the next hour, for fear that the spell I'm under will be broken.

Glad Star Wars isn't higher. Would have been great if Star Wars hadn't made the list at all but I guess it was inevitable.

I love Fassbinder - has Fox and His Friends on the list because I thought it might sneak in but my fave is I Only Want You To Love Me which he did for TV and is pretty underseen - you could pick like 15 of his total work I think for a poll.........he's not a poll kind of guy, he's more a deep dive into his filmography type

Both had an outstanding decade. yeah I agree with Martin's take, there are just so many Fassbinders to choose from and thematically/stylistically there's a lot of overlap there. If I had voted for any of his stuff it would've been Chinese Roulette probably. I am surprised Ali didn't even show up as an HM though.

I feel weird about Nashville because I know I should love it, it has everything it needs for me to love it, but I don't. But I know it's my problem.

Shame The Exorcist couldn't finish higher. I love that film from top to bottom. It's remarkable.
