I totally forgot about Depp's performance in Black Mass. All I remember was being so distracted by the awful make up job he was rocking. He looked like some old fucked up vampire lol. Wasn't too impressed tbh .
Dude is fucking washed up now which is sad to admit but its the truth. Oh well, I'll always be able to re visit 90s Depp when he was the coolest (favorite 90s Depp performance is a toss up between Donnie Brasco or Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas)

Brad Pitt. Anything from Legends of the Fall, 12 Monkeys, Fight Club to The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Moneyball, The Tree of Life and Ad Astra.

Their respective trajectories have diverged enormously in the past decade+, but peak to peak, I'd have to go with Johnny. More naturally charismatic and versatile. His best days are long behind him (and don't get me started on his personal life), but when you watch stuff like Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, or even the first Pirates, it's not hard to spot his innate, screen-jumping talent. That being said, Pitt has made wayyy better choices. Overall I think he's better as a supporting player, though--he can be self-conscious and/or bland in the lead.
