I got 12 for 12 under the preferential ballot system, and 24 for 26 overall.
Questions:
1. Did the film win the PGA, DGA, or WGA?
2. Did the film win multiple major guilds from the PGA, DGA, SAG, WGA, and ACE awards?
3. Did the film win at least 5 out of the 9 major guilds?
If the answer is "yes" to the first two questions, then that film qualifies for the remaining questions. Nomadland, Green Book, and The Shape of Water won it on the first two questions. The film that answers "yes" to question 3, becomes the best picture prediction. Argo, Slumdog, No Country, Chicago and American Beauty won it on the third question.
4. Did the film score PGA, DGA, and SAG Ensemble nominations? (1 point)
5. Did the film score director, writing, and editing nominations? (1 point)
6. Did the film receive any acting nominations? (1 point)
The film with the most points wins. If it's a tie, then you move onto the tiebreaker/sudden death questions.
Tiebreaker #1 - Did the film win the PGA, DGA, or SAG Ensemble?
Tiebreaker #2 - Did the film score the most major Oscar nominations? I am referring to Best Picture, Best Director, the four acting categories, Best Screenplay (Original or Adapted), and Best Film Editing.
Tiebreaker #3 - Did the film win the most critics circle awards?
Both Crash and Moonlight won it without going into overtime.
Parasite won it in the first OT against Jojo Rabbit. 1917 didn't get any points at all.
The Big Short and Spotlight went into OT. Spotlight won it on the second OT. Spotlight was nominated for two acting Oscars, The Big Short only had one.
Million Dollar Baby and The Aviator went into triple OT. M$B won 6 critics circle prizes, including Dallas and the National Society of Film Critics. The Aviator won 3.
The only two I got wrong with 1997 (LA Confidential beat out Titanic) and 1995 (Apollo 13 beat out Braveheart). However, both of these were under a different voting system.
