The Shipping News sucks, but I think this is a pretty cool lineup! Shame all of Diaz's precursors didn't lead to an Oscar nom. Connelly went lead and then ended up winning the Oscar in the category, but Mirren was the winner of this list. Who is your choice?

Haven't seen Blanchett but of the other four, Mirren.
How unusual that most of the nominees didn't get recognised by AMPAS. I guess their films weren't popular enough.

Blanchett's scene-stealing, wonderful work.

Voted for Mirren. If Connelly was in the line-up, I would have voted for her. Mirren's big scene at the end was heartbreaking.

Blanchett, whose nomination here was both deserved and inspired.
Still need to see Dench's film.

Haven't seen The Shipping News (probably never will). Mirren is the best of the other four by a large margin, but I like the other performances too.
Diaz is literally the only thing I remember from Vanilla Sky. Fanning practically stole the show from Penn, and Blanchett is hilarious and heartbreaking in that role.

Love Mirren, Diaz is the one virtue of her movie and Fanning was kinda creepy, but is Blanchett for me ( even though she's lead ), in which I consider her best era as an actress, she sings not once but two times to a Bonnie Tyler song the whole bored suburban housewife aesthetic fits her like a glove.
