Surprising, though a wonderfully atypical score from Williams....I wish he'd do something like it again sometime.

stunning upset for Moore. I was sure Far from Heaven was going home empty-handed. Of course, Gyllenhaal is THE BEST, but you don't see me complaining

Wow kinda shocked at City of God winning best picture, or maybe I shouldn't be, it is a well-revered film after all. Anyway great job pendragon.

Supporting actor (Serkis): Good win, even if I personally chose Newman. Anyone but Cooper would have been fine by me. Cinematography(R2P): Correct Production design(GoNY): It was fine Costume Design (GoNY): ditto Makeup (LotR): ditto Sound mixing (LotR): ditto Sound editing (LotR): ditto Visual effects (LotR): I didn't like anything at all from this year, it was abysmal for the category... but this is one of the better ones Supporting actress (Streep): One of Streep's better performances, belonging to a better movie than what she got. I personally prefer Pfeiffer, but this is okay. Choreography (Hero): Can't complain, but I don't love it either. Different strokes. Film Editing (CoG): Fuck you. Ensemble (LotR): Decent win, but Chicago should have taken this. Song (8M): Haven't seen the film, but I seriously doubt that this can beat Gollum's Song Score (CMIYC): Perfection. Original screenplay (PDL & T2H): WHAT THE HELL!? TWO WINNERS AND THEY'RE THESE!? Adapted screenplay (Adaptation): Having just rewatched this, I am annoyed as hell at this movie, and Kaufman's script is the worst part. Director (Meirelles/Lund): *sigh* Crappy Scorsese clones, but the other nominees aren't much better Actor (Brody): Uhh.... huh? Like... why? Actress (Moore): Bleh. Picture (CoG): Over-the-top bullshit

Great set of winners. A bit surprised by City of God taking BP but it deserved. A tad disappointed that Two Towers didn't win stunt, fight and choreography. After all it has the greatest battle in all of cinema.
