Gilligan originally did not want Lalo included in BCS but lost the debate and has admitted how happy he is that he did. That's the thing I love about Vince. He knows that this is a world where the greatness was borne out of compromise and the genius of his writing staff, and he is willing to make concessions. Honestly I don’t know how the writing staff does it. Everything feels so meticulous and planned out and yet they say quite often that they start back at square 1 at the being of each season. Having season 4’s focus on the lab to me was initially odd, but now I’ve come to realize how crucial it is in Mike’s development and his relationship to Gus while also putting us in a false sense of security with Hector out of the game things are mostly running smoothly and then Lalo shows up. I wanted him dead but only to reduce the anxiety when he’s around. Of course I’m still happy to see him alive at the end of this season. I’m hoping season 5 is the magical number like it was for Breaking Bad and this show goes home with some much long deserved Emmys for drama, Odenkirk, Banks, and for the love of god Seehorn. At least nominate her.

Also, something I just learned. Apparently with Season 1 they wanted to make Nacho the big bad on the entire show but based off of Mando's performance in the first season they switched up his character. Reminds me of how Jesse was supposed to be killed off in S1 of BB but Paul's performance and the writers strike changed that and the rest is history.

I never would have figured Nacho a two bit criminal would have had such a big part, but I’m glad that he does. Never thought I’d be rooting for him, but here we are.

Makes sense considering I bet he was cast based on his Far Cry 3 performance. When his casting was announced I figured he would be playing a villainous character in that vein. And now I keep thinking how awesome he could've been as Lalo. But I like what they've done with the character instead and obviously Tony Dalton is perfect as Lalo, so I'm not gonna complain.

Terrific stuff. Probably the best season so far but i do get that feeling we should've reached this point further than 5 seasons. I'm more invested in Kim now and curious about her fate. Rhea Seehorn stole the show. Hope she gets some awards love.

Unbelievable, they delivered their finest work in Better Call Saul for this past season...and..nothing. Lost out to The Morning Show.

Odenkirk gets nominated every year but snubbed for his best season. Seehorn was the best she's ever been and gets snubbed. Both should have won.
BCS didn't even get a Directing nod. What a joke.
Meanwhile Succession had 7 acting nominations.

Fucking embarrassing. The Emmys becoming more and more of a joke every year. I'm happy for Watchmen's nomination success because I thought that was a great limited series show and The Last Dance documentary. Quality work, but man how did they miss them this year, and Jonathan Banks was great this year. They nominated the show for Best Drama Series but miss the leads.

Seriously, though, I'm rooting hard for Esposito. He deserved to win the year he lost to Aaron Paul, and I'm praying for a Succession vote-split. COME ON, GUS!

And Odenkirk delivered some of his best work this past season. It really fucking sucks and hurt that he and Seehorn were snubbed so hard.

I forgot about Michael Mando..this also was his best season. I guess they're tired of Better Call Saul..I don't know. I'm rooting for Esposito now as well. He should've got nominated for Godfather of Harlem but I knew they wouldn't pay attention to that show.

Man was Esposito great in that. He would have been a worthy nominee too.
