yeah after rewatching Minari I think Han is even more lead than Kim. I have them all in lead but Kim is the most borderline to me. I think the Monica-Jacob conflict is given more weight than the conflict between David and Soon-Ja. So much of this movie is about and structured around their deteriorating marriage.

I think the Monica-Jacob conflict is given more weight than the conflict between David and Soon-Ja. So much of this movie is about and structured around their deteriorating marriage. I agree. Putting Alan Kim in Lead was the trickiest decision for me because unlike a lot of recent films centred around childhood, David is not the defacto focal point of the film and his subplot gets less focus than Jacob and Monica's conflict; I don't have a shadow of doubt about Steve Yeun and Han Ye-ri being leads. I'm okay if Alan gets put in Supporting Actor, but it's category fraud to me if Steve and/or Yeri get demoted to Supporting.

thanks for participating everyone, it's super helpful and makes Sharbs 's job a bit easier and allows us to have a more streamlined nomination process. Now go vote in the real thing! in hindsight I guess we shouldda voted on Hamilton too. Impeach-it-before-it-gets-a-chance-to-run-again kinda thing. But there's no chance it gets nominated for anything, right, guys... Right??
