Stunned that he's following up An Officer And A Spy which I think I underrated (I think I gave it only an ~ 8..........and then I saw this years lame Oscar nominees ). That was a perfect farewell film .......but I'm glad it's not a farewell....... ...........and Skolimowski too!........it's like they're making this stuff just for me really......

Lodz reunion! But really.... Imagine cowriting Knife in the Water together in 1959 and saying "We'll collab again in 2022!" Dream project from two masters, promising concept that opens up casting potential too...

Whether it's set there or not.... the Gstaad Palace is extremely renowned especially with celebrities, and Polanski has a history of going there (he has a home in Gstaad) and is good friends with the owner, apparently. www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/why-hollywood-stars-have-flocked-switzerlands-gstaad-palace-60-years-9758551999 was a very interesting year for Switzerland.... First woman elected president (they only have one-year terms, so NYE would be her last day in office)... and there's the late-December Hurricane Lothar which was "the costliest European windstorm ever" - the Gstaad Palace financed their local reconstruction. Another thing: the Italian producers just finished a movie Diabolik starring Luca Marinelli, hmmm.

www.worldofreel.com/blog/2021/4/1ae8s19aonfvdd5bdtng1ctwmhxsccJordan Ruimy says Mia Farrow is rumored to star -- but that can't be true can it? I think he might've misread the Showbiz411 site which mentioned casting Mia in a facetious way. Rai Cinema, though, co-financed Caravaggio's Shadow which wrapped a few months ago, costarring Huppert (!!)... She'd fit right into the luxurious scene here and she's probably bold enough to do it. You can expect Seigner, and maybe Dujardin or Louis Garrel who were in J'accuse...

If that happened, Ronan would have to find a new profession, and like 50% of Woody detesters would start to re-evaluate the whole scandal. Like how is that even possible? Not even Leo could get away with working with Roman in 2021, much less someone like Mia Farrow.

Sounds great! There are few filmmakers of the genius caliber of Polanski still alive & working (maybe like 4 or 5), but there isn't one who you can be rest assured as much the mere act of you paying to see his film will piss off all the right people. So...double win! 🤣🤣

CAB Productions has also joined. They coproduced the Three Colors Trilogy, a bunch of Claude Chabrol, Alain Tanner.......and their latest movie stars Catherine Deneuve (maybe we'll get a Repulsion reunion).

Anyone who still works with him (or supports him by watching any of his movies) should be ashamed of themselves. This perverted monster belongs in prison, not making films. His victim deserved so much better. If this was a just world, this would never get made.

His victim deserved so much better. If this was a just world, this would never get made. His victim has stated over & over again she wishes self-righteous SJW poser twats like you would STFU about it & that by always bringing it up, it is THEM who are re-victimizing her, NOT him. She's well over it and has a happy life now. I follow her on Twitter, easily smarter & less miserable than all the obsessed Polanski haters. Also, if this was a just world, your Mom would have swallowed & spared the world a braindead woke zombie puke.

If you think your idol Naomi doesn't watch Polanski movies, you're even more braindead & hopeless than you come across. No small feat! The REAL crime is SJW scum like you can breathe same air as me.

I hope this is true, I mean it came right from Almeida at some red carpet event this week. Repulsion reunion and Basil Fawlty in another hotel comedy??
"Joaquim de Almeida confessed that he will work for the veteran filmmaker on The Palace, currently about to be filmed. Not yet official, Joaquim also confirmed that he will play opposite Catherine Deneuve and John Cleese."

I like him, just a totally unexpected casting. Hard to take him seriously in anything after (the great) The Wrestler but there's good potential for him in this project which the producers describe as a "grotesque comedy." Lotta opportunities in the cast for cameo-size roles, playing the outlandish elite of this very high scale NYE party.....I'm expecting a slightly star studded cast.

From Deadline
EXCLUSIVE: Monty Python star John Cleese and Gomorrah actor Fortunato Cerlino have been confirmed to us as among supporting cast for Roman Polanski’s new movie The Palace, which is in production in Switzerland.
German actor Oliver Masucci and French actress Fanny Ardant lead cast in the movie, which Wild Bunch is handling for sales. Mickey Rourke also stars.
The drama, set on New Year’s Eve 1999 in a luxurious hotel, sees the lives of hotel workers and various guests intertwine. Script comes from Polanski and fellow Polish veteran Jerzy Skolimowsk while crew includes Polanski’s regular cinematographer Pawel Edelman.

Cleese is great, clever casting. He's tweeted a bit about working in Switzerland and even noted some serious spoilers about his character. Fanny Ardant is dream casting and I thought it was her first time working with Polanski but he directed her as Maria Callas on stage in 1996, apparently! Deneuve, Adjani..... he's Huppert away from having directed all my fav French actresses.
